Location: Texas | Could we just ban together and boycott this bill, if it passes, and always live on daylight savings.... Lol I sure do like it getting dark at night instead of 5:30 in the afternoon |

Location: Moving soon..... | I hope it passes. I HATE daylight savings time. If they take it away, you are not going to loose that much time, maybe an hour in the summer. I do not like getting in the house at 9:30p in the summer. |

| It makes more sense to me to keep it like it is now, more light in the evenings to be outside. |

Location: Lost in the corn of Iowa. | Indiana doesn't observe Daylight Savings Time either. I wish they would do away with it all together. Look at the history of it to begin with. First to save candle light and then in the US to help with the war effort. Obviously we don't need DST anymore because of more cost effective ways to save and conserve energy. So, I hope it passes. Maybe it'll start a trend up here in the Midwest. |

Location: The best kept secret in TX | I'm on the fence on this one. Yes, I love the fact that it is still bright out when I get off work and get home. At the same time, I don't appreciate the sun waking me at 5-6 every morning in the summer either. I don't wake up to alarms, so I rely on the sun since I don't have to be anywhere until 8-9 anyway... But Once I'm up...I'm up... |

Not trying to sound rude but how does daylight savings time MAKE you go on the house at 930 |

Ditto. My husbsnd shoots sporting clays and without DST, it's too dark to shoot by the time he gets home from work |

Location: Texas | I want to keep DST...I do not have lights to ride when it gets dark before I get home in the evening...plus enjoy being outside more when it is daylight after I do get home from work...when it gets dark at 5 in the evening I feel like I should be in the bed asleep and makes me more of a couch potato. |

Location: Austin, Texas, where it can get really weird!! | I would rather it be the same time year round to change is silly to me, it only started in the early 1900's and caught on to save electricity, in the 30's and now has no real purpose as power is mo longer considered a precious commodity |

There is a link to sign the petition to keep DLS on that page. Make sure you don't just like and share but also open the link and sign the petition. Do it fast, they vote on it May 8! I work a full time job and like a lot of others need that extra time in the evening if I even am going to think about riding/working my horses. If you don't work a day job I can maybe see how you don't care but not me. |

Location: Central Texas | My happy day of the year is when Daylight Savings Time starts. I can actually see my horses! Then as the days get longer, I can even ride. Since I've had to take a day job, like a lot of others, I really really hate the dark evenings. I spend all the daylight hours in a dang office. |

Will Hurd was the last to reply just a few minutes ago, he said the same as the others: Currently, there is no legislation before the House or Senate to remove or modify Daylight Saving Time. |

They voted to move it out of committee on 4/28/15 and it will be up shortly for the house vote. They probably don't know about it since it happened so recently.

I hope they keep DLS time in effect. They started moving the beginning date back past Halloween because statistics showed that less kids got killed by cars if that was the case. I can only imagine what a full summer of sunset sooner might lead to if we lost more light around those crucial times.
