In all of the years I've owned horses, I haven't had a dent. My gelding has a decent one on his hiney, I'm assuming one of our mares got him. Is there anything that can be done for it? I gave him some bute, if there's anything I can do to keep it from being a permanent mark I'll do it!

Body putty...LOL.  Just kidding. I don't know, I guess I just live with the dents in my horses as long as it doesn't affect them or the way they work or make them sore.

I've had quite a few horses with those awkward "dents" before =] Nothing can really be done, I had the vet check them out and apparently they are dead muscles. Shouldn't effect the horse at all, if so you might want to get it checked out.

Blah...I've bought horses with them before, but they haven't acquired them while in my care. We have a hotter mare on the premises right now who has happy feet, and with this rain they weren't allowed out in the big pasture and I guess this is what I get for it!
Alright, we'll suck it up. He moves fine on it, it just upsets me. I'll run it by my vet though, just in case.

I had only had my gelding for a couple of months when he acquired a dent the size of the Grand Canyon in his butt, courtesy of an evil mare.  That's been 2 years ago.  Dents happen.

I have a matching one on my upper leg.  Been there since the kick 30 years ago, perfect hoofprint.
