Location: NE Texas | DA BOMB!!!!!!!!!!! I just have to share the infamous Rail Ditch once more. I picked her up at a barrel race last night after having had 30 days with Chase Shafer, and to say i'm pleased with her, and the job Chase did for me, would be an understatement! She is riding great and ready to go on and do whatever you throw at her from here. He even hauled her to some bull ridings and ran out the bucking bulls and steers on her. I should have pics of that soon, but i'll attach a couple of videos below. I just can't get enough of these Scorcho babies! Dropped my second off with him last night and can't wait to get that one back too! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VA5tBi8vpEY https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=36nsp8L4S3E |

He truly does a great job and exposes them to so much while he has them. I couldn't be any more pleased with her at this point! |

She looks amazing! I love the trainer, the quality shows in the horse, she is following a feel very nicely, her mouth and ears are quiet and she looks so confident! He is one of the few trainers I've seen on here that I would actually send a colt to. |

Location: NE Texas | Thanks all, yes, fantastic job done by Chase. As an owner getting a colt ready to send out, i'm sure to have done my homework as well and have everyting done except for actually swinging my leg over their back. That way when they go to him, he doesn't have to back track with all the ground work and i'm able to get the most out of my 30 days, as all of it is spent riding and not sacking one out. I'm very proud of this filly, and I just have to say that out of all of the colts I have started through the years and done the ground work with, these El Scorcho babies have absolutely been a DREAM to work with! They are great minded and take everything in stride without getting rattled. Very trainable and very good minded with the perfect amount of spark! I'd take a barn full of them! |

A good horse put with an excellence trainer equals a lifetime of good horse flesh |

Location: DUMPING CATS AND PIGS IN TEXAS :) | Thanks, Jessi. Nothing will make me happier than to watch you out there riding her :) and, I have to applaud Chase too. I know you did all the ground work, but he sure did a great job in 30 days. I'm totally intending to use him too for Barbie and, possibly, Wanker this year. It's nice to be able to get on a baby like that and not have to worry about getting bucked or ran off with. She is totally ready for Phase 2 of the Jessi Q training program :) Happy for you, buddy :)

Location: Red Raiderland | Herbie, I am soooo soooo happy for you and Rail Ditch. I can vouch for all that is being said on here as I have had a couple of colts started by Chase and he is really great with these young ones. He has a calming personality with all these babies. He brought RD over here a couple of weeks ago and rode in the covered arena and she rode like she had many more days than just 30. She did jump sideways from the pop up barrels but it took her no time to settle in. I got to see a first hand look at how great she looked and how great she moves. If this is any indication of El Scorcho babies he is going to be a great producer. Of course I kind of like Streakin Six babies and grandbabies, not gonna lie. |

Lol...probably in my back yard. If we do stand him, it will be at Louisiana Center For Equine Reproduction again. It is in Opelousas, LA. |

He's 19 this year. I don't foresee him leaving LA. There's his age and I'm very fond of him. I can barely stand leaving him at LACER a couple of weeks at a time. It's 40 miles away and that's about as far as I'll let him go without me. |

Yep. 19 this year. That's another reason he probably won't stand to many outside mares next year. I have contracts that I will honor, but I am trying to hold a handful of his daughter's for myself and it is difficult to breed your mares and outside mares. Makes me have to haul my mares 40 miles to the vet for their insemination, plus pay all those fees. It's just not financially worth it. |
