Location: MD | my horses are STILL shedding. we've had 80+ degree days for the last few weeks. it hasn't dropped below 50 for at LEAST 3-4 weeks.
they just won't let go of that dang hair! I did an extra dose of wormer, constant grooming, several bathes, added healthy coat to their grain about a week ago I think?... any ideas? |

| I would look at symptoms of cushings as shedding out poorly is one symptom |

| Just throwing this out. Do you feed Renew Gold? I tried it for about 3 months and mine did same thing. Would NOT shed and actually were trying to grow a thick wirey coat. As soon as I took them off and switched to another feed both horses shed in about 4 days with big clumps of hair coming off. FOr some reason it does that to some horses. |

Location: Tennessee | Try cool calories. It's technically a fat supplement but it does WONDERS for the skin & coat. When we got my horses back from a bad boarding situation they're coats where unhealthy, dull & not shedding. No joke their fur was FLYING off in 2 days! Even if a new horse doesn't need weight, I put them on this for the skin benefits. |

Location: MD | and on a more serious note, I will look into cushings some more. I gave my vet a fecal sample on both horses. The horse I'm concerned about the most is slick on the shoulders and neck and girth area... but still pulling out wads of hair along the spine/butt and barrel. |

Location: Montana | My mare is almost completely slick, but my gelding is still shedding. He is starting to lose a lot of hair but he has A LOT more to go. He is also thinner/lankier, so I think he is keeping it in self-defense because it is still cool here (high today about 50 degrees). My mare has a nice layer of fat, so she doesn't need the extra hair, LOL.

Location: North Dakota | I'd also look into ulcers. We had one that didn't want to shed & had super long belly hairs. We treated him with Omeprazole and those long hairs on his belly shed right off. The others still have a few long hairs by the flanks, chin, and their legs, however I live in ND, so I'm not overly concerned. |

| My injured horse that's off for the year slicked out completely in March, and looks like a million bucks, but of course the one I use still looks like a woolly mammoth, and it's been warm!! |
