Because it's obviously not Florida!! I have the nicest most easy going honest gelding ever and I love him dearly he hits bottom of 2d to 3d but I'm debating on how much longer I want to keep him down here or finding someone who will tend to his needs like me. I'm advancing and can only afford 1-2 horses at a time, I've had him 8 years and finding the perfect match in a cooler place will be so hard :(

I would say a northern state. Have you tried the Platinum product for non sweaters? I have had great success with this. Also making sure that they get enough salt is important. Free choice won't get it.

Probabaly out west, even though it still gets hot, it is dry enough that it cools off at night. Or just go far enough north that they only have 2-3 months of hot weather even though it can still be humid. Sorry you are having to deal with that, tough to do in our part of the world.

I know you didn't ask for treatment ideas but at one time I was blessed with 2 non sweaters in TEXAS! One responded to one ac, the other nothing worked but acupuncture- highly recommend for a non sweater. I tried it skeptically as a last resort, worked really well.
From what I learned about it a horse wont really have issues as long as it gets to at least 70 degrees at night. I know it sounds crazy but apparently it must not be able to get too hot during the day if it will cool to 70 at night (I did read this somewhere). Anyway good luck!
