Have any of you that use the THE Equine Edge or Muscle Mass with Joint & Arthritis special blend added in been pleased with it?  I am considering switching from Platinum Performance CJ to the THE MM with Joint added because my horse tends to leave the PPCJ in the bottom of his bucket (unless I bribe him with an additional hand full of oats to clean it up).  My vet highly recommends the PPCJ, and if money were no object, to do the Pentosan as well!  But looking for cheaper alternatives as well.  I haven't found the amounts of gluc & chond in the THE Joint special blend.  I am also considering just going to Cosequin ASU, which is very similar to the joint stuff in PPCJ.  I am wondering if the THE Joint special blend is just as good as the Cosequin ASU or PPCJ?  This is for horses that do have arthritic changes, one in fetlock joints and the other hocks/stifles.  Trying to prolong joint injections.  I recently started the Pentosan loading and will give that once per month as maintenance as well.  Feedback?

We bought a 19 year old mare that reportedly got "sore" on her front legs. Vet said arthritis. We started her on THE MM, joint/arthritis, ulcer prevent, hair and coat. She is doing great. We are riding and barrel racing on her without any hint of soreness. I'm very pleased with this product.

Interestingly - after much conversation and checking with vets and our THE rep Krystal on here ...

I am feeding PPCJ and THE gastroplus together.  The gastroplus is not mixed with anything (no MM or other THE supps).  My mare can be a bit "meh" about PPCJ if it is not mixed real well in her alfalfa, she will leave it.  So, we are now 3 days into PPCJ and THE together and she CLEANS the bucket.  I mean licking the bucket, the handle, the rim, the floor ... EVERYTHING.

It is just an ancedotal observation at this point but might be helpful.

Good Luck!

That is very interesting.  I assume you like the PPCJ so much that you didn't want to switch completely to THE?

I'm super please with the blend and how it makes my horse feel. If you feel like you need something stronger you can just have them customize it more. talk to krystal and see what they can do but I would definitely try the blend first.  Worked great on mine!

I've been using THE MM or Performance special blends for years. I always include the ulcer prevent, joint and breather. I have had great luck with my horses staying happy healthy and firing on all cylinders. I've had my 13 year old on THE for 2 years now I think? And he's done great on it. Just used the GastroPLUS on my new horse and now he's on the MM special blend. I think it works awesome overall. A great way to save money without sacrificing quality in my opinion.

To be fair - I had not heard of THE when I started looking for competitve supplements.

I actually won a bucket of Platinum CJ at a Mtd Shooting in Vegas and tried it on my mare.  I was sold.  I love it, love the way my horses work on it and I have kept them on some form of Platinum ever since.  I see no reason to change that up when it is working and has been working so well for so long.

I started looking at THE when I started looking for ulcer help.  My #1 horse started getting cinchy and we ruled out muscle or structural soreness as the cause.  So, I talked to Krystal and my vet independently and we all agreed to try some gastroPlus.  I ordered it, and while waiting had her scoped for ulcers - we found 'em.

A major reason I chose gastroPlus was that it has been shown to treat gastric ulcers and hind gut ulcers as well.  The second reason was the price - it was in my budget where as the PP ulcer additive was out of my budget ...

Hope that helps!
