I have a yearling stud colt. When do you start hauling to races, and exposing them to the rodeo atmosphere?

I don't haul babies, only when I have them started as 3 year olds.

If they can listen on a lunge line and stand tied they will get to go with.  We had a 2 year old (he's 3 now) that went whenever we had room in the trailer.  He's pretty good about a lot of stuff, BUT I would have never hauled him as a yearling stud, because he was a pain in the butt!  Had the family jewels removed and we found his brains, he's a super nice well rounded horse and we've only been on him a dozen times.  They need the exposure, IMO being used AND getting used to the atmosphere is sometimes hard on them, but each horse is different.  If I know I can handle them and I have room they go with.
