how big is the sire? She sure is a pretty mare too and seems very proud of her baby. |

No I dont think hes little I just use that word in most of my posts for a new born, they are just so cute and little up against their mom's. Heck I use that word for my little grandkids all the time, I'm always saying something like my little man, my little dumpling....LOL, your baby is just a cute normal little baby. |

| CUTE BABY .. how many socks or stockings does he have ...lots of chrome ...
I judge whether a baby is big or little very simply ...
If the baby can walk or easily go under his mom's belly to the other side ..
he is a small foal
if baby has to walk around the mare or crouch and grunt to even go under her
flank area to get to the other side ...
he is a large foal .
The above applies to any foal born to any size of mare ..
When judging one at 6 months old they are either bigger or smaller than an average foal ..

I can't tell for sure yet just how much but he does have some chrome! And he definitely cannot walk under momma like her first foal could. He even has to squat a little to nurse. He's not big, he's not small.....I think he will be nearly exactly what I was trying to breed for. I prefer my horses right around 15 hands. Her first foal never made 14 hands. So I chose a much larger stallion in the hopes of getting a baby the same size as the mare. I certainly got 2 things I was really hoping for.....a colt.....and bright red. I was so excited to see red that I didn't even care if it was a colt or a filly. It took me almost 2 hours to find out. I just had to sit, be patient, and watch. She's a cougar momma. |

Chances are he's not carnivorous... I mean, even Diomedes only fed meat to his mares. He's plenty cute tho!! |
