teamroper.com is another place to check. I agree that talking with a roper is probably your best avenue for finding one though. They almost always know people who have some for sale.
Yes, what are you looking for? Sherwood Rope Horses (you can find them on facebook) always has something around. Steve texted me the other day about a dun 7 year old gelding that breakaway's and is heeling good. Looking to sell him.
downside to facebook -- when trying to puchase anything...after a while all the different "groups" that specialize in a commodity all end of having the same ads---sellers post the same ads in multiple groups
Just for word of mouth seeking out a heel horse, would prefer a little older and been there done that type of horse without a huge price tag. Some maintenance is ok. Thanks again everyone.
If you go to a roping, many people who don't have a horse listed for sale may still be willing to sale if you offer them a reasonable price. I'm not too too far from you though so I'll keep my eye open and let you know if I see something in this area.
