| I'm a recent college graduate and I can't seem to find a job in Texas. I have searched and searched for a possible Ag job. I don't fit the requirements for these jobs that interest me.
Does anyone know of agriculture companies that are hiring? Beef cattle or Equine related jobs?
Any area in Texas would be fine. |

| Agricultural extension service which used to be through TAMU and I think it still is. Soil conservation service. Representative for a pharmaceutical company. Around the panhandle there are a bunch of seed companies. representative for a feed company. Purina has been advertising workshops called HOW or something like that. I knew two people who were feed reps---one was for Purina and one was for another feed company. A friend's son is a rep for Nutrena.
Have you tried the placement office at your college? That is a place you need to become familiar with. |

| I have a friend that's a sales rep to vets. She always has the coolest pictures of things she's seen at the vets offices. I have a degree in ag and acconting and I work for a farm doing all the financial stuff.
Agcareers.com usually has lots of postings, if you haven't already looked there. If you know any alumni from your school, try reaching out to them to see if they have any ideas. |

Location: Missouri | Try having a journalism degree...I work in a steel yard office processing orders and scheduling when they go out. Only thing I like about my job, weekends and holidays off and I am done at 3:30, otherwise I hate it. |

Location: 100 miles from Nowhere, AR | A lot of guys in private industry got their start with extension. You also may need to look at other states to get your foot in the door with a company. |

You must be in Madisonville?
I have a AgBusiness degree and teach all Career and Tech classes at a DAEP campus. Really love my job! I worked in an accounting office for a while before getting my teaching cert. because I couldn't find a job in agribusiness (but I also didn't want to move to west Texas, didn't loose anything out there I needed to go back and get lol).
Extension agent threw TAMU isn't bad. That is what my best friend does, and she works all the time, I think because she won't say no. I will probably not see her until August now that summer is rolling around. She makes less than I do and she is never home. She has tried talking me into and I won't. |

County extension agent isn't a great long term career plan, but you can build skills, a resume, and a reputation that will help you get into private industry. |

Location: Texas | I don't know if you have tried this site: http://www.agcareers.com/ but that may be another resource.
Also, it would help to know your major as well as where you are now. Texas is a BIG state and anywhere sounds like you may not live here now. This could inhibit your job search as some companies don't want the added expense of interviewing someone from another state if locals are also qualified. |
