Location: Southeast Louisiana | After the baby was born, I dropped 25lbs. Then I plateaued. Since doing a few weeks of low carb, I've lost ten pounds. I should have lost more by now, but when I'm working night shifts, I have to have carbs. So my weight loss gets kind of derailed. When I get back on day shifts at work, I can lose about a pound a day. I have all of the low carb fatigue! But, I'm losing weight!
I need some inspirational success stories, too!! |

Location: NE Texas | I lost 100 pounds over the last two years. I cancelled cable (just have netflix) - stopping watching Real Housewives of Where-ever (lol), all that crap TV and do something around the house/barn until I'm tired and ready to go to bed. Will sit down and watch a movie once or twice a week, but just increasing my activity level made a huge difference. Also, when eating out I opted for better choices in my sides (rather than french fries I would get a side salad, but still have the cheeseburger on on the weekend). Small changes add up........ but in my mind, I think about what we would do to our horses. Less food and more work! lol
Good luck - you just gotta find YOUR motivation.

I went from going to the gym 6 days a week, eating healthy and i was stuck.. the scale wouldnt move and neither would the tape, after joining the red box craze i am down 25lbs 19 inches, sleeping through the night, my migraines are at 1 a month instead of 2-3 a week, and i have more energy than i know what to do with. Its the best decision i ever made.

| My weight has fluctuated a lot and in the past three years, the first two, both falls and winters I would gain almost 20 lbs and then lose it in the spring. I promised myself I wouldn't do that this year so this past fall I made sure I stayed on track. I'm not the most dedicated and fall off of schedule sometimes but I try to eat smaller portions, not too much of anything that I know is really bad for me, and have tried to cook at home more. My weight did go up about 5 lbs around Thanksgiving and Christmas but I've been really good about not letting it get out of hand and have actually lost around 5 lbs from MY "good" weight. I try and do something active everyday whether it be going to the gym and doing somethin on a machine (stride machine, eliptical), jogging, or just plain walking my dog has been a lot of what I've been doing so we both get exercise. And of course riding helps! I'd like to eat healthier and firm up some but ramen noodles, bologna sandwiches, deer meat, and canned/dry foods are what my diet really consists of right now and for the next year. Lol. Good job to everyone and keep up the good work!! |

Location: MN | I'm down 10-13 pounds, but have lost more inches I think than the scale reflects. I should really track measurements but I don't. Kicked my butt back into running by signing up for a 1/2 marathon which is 2 1/2 weeks away. And I said before i would never do one, but am now also registed for a full marathon in Oct then another 1/2 for Halloween! The hard part at this moment is my appetite kicked in yesterday, after increasing my run speed and bumping to heavier weights. Just gotta make sure they are quality calories and not junk! It's easier for me at the time to fit this all in since my barrel horse is out on injury. |

| I'm down about 6-7 pounds, my goal is 10. I've mostly focused on increasing my activity level (I started a desk job 2 years ago and gained the 10 pounds). I've changed my eating habits a little bit, but I didn't really have any bad habits. When I got my Viviofit I was seriously alarmed because I thought I was a lot more active than I actually was. Getting to 2000 steps was hard on a "normal" day (got the Viviofit in January). So now I focus on 10k steps a day and I'm also trying to drink a lot more water, which is not easy for me. |

Wow!! That is awesome! That's the inspiration I needed!
I'm shooting for 70-80. If I can tolerate the low carb for that long.
I cannot do portion control... AT ALL! I have got to eat. |

Same here. I am busy and need FOOD to get me through the day! I don't mind no or low carbs at all except when it comes to BEER. I heart domestic, light, and cold beverages. It's my downfall :( |

Location: Desert Land | On February 23rd I joined a local chain of gyms that puts on a 6 week challenge to lose 20 lbs. During that 6 week challenge I lost 29.6 lbs. Then we got a week off and I started the next 6 week challenge on April 13th and lost 24 lbs. So in 13 weeks from February 23rd to May 25th I lost 53.6 lbs. In the picture below on the left is 2/23 & the right is 5/25. I know I have thr dry erase board up on the right, but you can really see a difference in my face.
I have really worked my butt off (literally) and am not done. I still have another 50-60 lbs to lose. I love the gym, their diet, their support. It works!

Location: Oklahoma & Texas | I started using products from a company called Xyngular - after a friend of mine i had college rodeo'd with ( she's married w/3 kids now and husband is a cutting horse trainer) lost 84 lbs in 6 months with them and a low carb diet... i can say this stuff works... i'm down 32 lbs since Feb 9th - and all i've done differently is use the products and limit my carbs.. i also got a fitbit a couple weeks ago and i tell ya im addicted to that thing logging my steps, miles, and i got the charge HR so it also does heart rate and calories burned etc.. i love it. I can log food too to know where i am at - and you can set goals to k now if you've met your daily goals in order to meet the long term ones..
anyway if anyone wants to check out the products - http://www.Xyngular.com/rbrewster is the webpage for my referrals for them.. i use the lean shakes daily - i drink one for breakfast and sometimes lunch.. and then i take their vitamin (called Axion) b/c it has probiotics (and its a great one) and then i take an energy one called Xyng once sometimes twice a day and another energy one that is B-vitamin based called Accelerate once or twice a day dependig on my energy and what i eat.. they also have one called cheat that you can take 30 mins before meals to help block 20-25% of the calories/carbs in it.. anyway.. works for me..they have other products too like flavor deals for water and different things.. these are the ones i take though...it has worked for tons of people..if anyone decides to try it let me know and i can get your on our fb page for food/meal ideas and success stories etc... most of the people i know on there are horse people that either show, rodeo, or breed - so for me it was kinda nice knowing it was people just like me who have the same lifestyle... it is one of those get the product type programs and for your referrals they do pay you - so if anyone wants to make money its a great way to make some -- a lot of the ladies on the fb page i would say probably 30 or 40 of them make a living with the products.. i just take them im not really a seller per se - i just got into them b/c of my friends success w/them and wanted to lose weight!

| Wow! Great weight loss for you all!
I decided around the end of April that I wanted to be down 20lbs by June 20th for my husband's family reunion. I started about 165 and got down to 151. Then I went on a weekend vacation and gained 4 back, so so far I'm down about 10lbs, with 10 more and just over 2 weeks to go. I should loose the weight quick that I put back on, hopefully pretty quickly. As long as I break the 150 mark I'll be happy. After the reunion, I'd like to continue and make it to 135, so a total of 30lbs.
I have been using myfitnesspal to track my food, keeping to a 1200 calorie diet. I log everything, so I'm held accountable for making bad food choices. If I want a burger at lunch, I only have enough calories left for a salad at night and I stick to it.
I have also started carrying my phone with me when I ride to get some calorie credit for moving. Basically, because of "calorie counting" I've cut out soda, (even though I always drank diet, I swear the carbonation weighs more or something!) stopped using creamer in my coffee, and have been eating a lot more greek yogurt, fruits and veggies. I'm glad summer is here to help me stop craving the smell of sweets and carbs baking in my oven all day. I'm hoping to find a good grilled salmon recipe too! |

Here you go:
spread margarine lightly on your salmon, then spread fat free sour cream over that, sliced onion, sliced lemon, pepper, and seasoning salt. Grill skin side down until salmon is flaky - BEST. RECIPE. EVER. |

Location: Sunny So Cal | I fall of the wagon a little bit every now and then. I really try to eat healthy. I try to stick to salads and soups or changing out my sides at resturants for a side salad and vegetables. Portion control is my biggest problem and the fact that I love cheese and pasta and bread! I have switched to drinking more water and away from sodas and teas. I also ride without stirrups everyday to help burn a few more calories. I always try to stay busy otherwise I tend to gravitate towards food. When I'm bored, I eat. When I'm sad, I eat. When I'm happy, I eat. I also rarely eat sugar and instead will eat dates as my sweet treat. Like right now I had lost 10lbs and then I got on the scale yesterday and gained 3lbs. So now it's another 3lbs I have to lose again. Good Luck! Loved reading everyone else's success stories! |

Location: North Dakota | Good job everyone! I lost 40 lbs last year and gained it all back over the winter. I cut waaaay back on my sugar/processed foods almost 2 weeks ago and am down about 5 lbs. Of course I have like 120 more to go. My knees feel the best they have in a long time. The hardest thing is portion control. By the time I get out of work I'm so hungry I just devour everything in sight! Also trying to do more yoga, waking the dogs, barn chores, and I should finally be able to start riding my horse again this month so all that should help too. |

| Great stories here ... I, too, am continuing down this path ... again. I lost 60 pounds several years ago and kept it off for a few years but then stopped working out faithfully ... then quit altogether. Eating habits went to the wayside and put about 30 back on..ugh. In January, I rejoined the gym and signed up for a program using the treadmill. Taking the class two times a week was good but it didn't help solidify the habit of getting back. Eight weeks ago, I signed up for another program that had strength training with a trainer two times a week, but this time, I committed to doing classes the other three days ...I was evaluated (measurements and body fat)...in six weeks, I lost a total of 10 inches, 3% body fat and 10 lbs. I am eating better as well and enjoying doing something for me for the one hour a day .... I still have a ways to go, but I'm back on track and enjoying it. I also use the Sworkit app on the weekends..it's a great tool to have at home...continued success for everyone here as well...at 54 it just doesn't come off as easy:)

| 4 or 5 years ago I hit the gym and lost 40 pounds, I had just started riding and knew I needed to be in better shape. Went through menopause, same diet and exercise but gained 10 pounds, makes me mad, lol. I stayed there for 6 months and am just now starting to lose it, cleaned up my diet a little more. My ideal weight for me is 160, which is what I was at in my avatar. I did a fitness test and they said I should get down to 150. I can stay at 160 and have a few goodies every now and then but to stay at 150 is a real battle and when I initially lost my weight I told myself I was not going to beat myself up over 10 or 15 more pounds. I think I look and feel just fine at 160 :).
Great job to everyone in your weight loss and better health journey!

| Since March 20th, I have lost 45 lbs. Still have a ways to go to my goal weight, but am working hard to get there. I feel so much better about my riding, and my confidence has sky rocketed. Cut out bread and sugar, fried foods, and cokes. Eat dense proteins first, and then veggies. All about portion control. |

Location: North of the 49th Parallel | My friend finally came up with a term for my habits of working out- I "binge" workout. I'll go hard for 1-2 weeks, slack off for a week, go hard, slack off, repeat. I need to lose weight but ultimately right now, I'm going for strength. I'm having my 4th knee surgery in September and want to be at my peak for strength before I go in.... so since Jan, I have lost 1-2 pant sizes but I've gained 6-7 pounds (I keep telling myself its muscle lol) and haven't changed a thing in my diet. I've definitely noticed I've really put muscle on in my quads and my guy friends tell my a** looks better LOL.
I started doing cardio last week and will hopefully keep it up because before now, I've just been lifting heavy. |

What I also like ( not grilled tho...) is get tinfoil and slice carrots and leeks. I'll put a bit of dill butter on it then put a filet of salmon on top the the veggies and season that however. Put another thing of tinfoil on top and close the edges. I bake that @ 350 for about 20-30 minutes... Sooooo delicous!! |

Good blog. I never counted calories or "dieted" either- just ate whole food. I do work out as I think it helps my metablolism plus I feel better when I work out. I have my resting heart rate down to 51 :). |

| I have always been a curvy cowgirl and tried everything out there. Shakes, pills, meal plans, wraps, you name it and I've probably tried it.
I have finally found what works for my household. The scale and microwave have officially been booted! I was always so focused on what the scale said. Every day I would weigh myself and everyday it would destroy my confidence. Do I know how much I weigh? Nope! And honestly it doesn't matter. I think we use that number to compare ourselves to others.
And while I thought I was doing myself a favor by eating the "diet" microwaveable meals I didn't realize how much sugar, carbs, processed crap that was in it. So...no more microwave. Few weeks after the microwave and scale was trashed my bat wings, belly and thighs started to disappear as well. :)
Some other advice is to look into comparable taste substitutes. I thought I couldn't live without bread, cheese and desert but I have found healthier choices that still satisfy my cravings. If you need ideas please don't hesitate to ask!

| in 2010 I weighed 243lbs and wore a size 22. I had a very stressfull job that I got laid off from June of that year. (Blessing in disguise.) To afford to work off my rent I cleaned all the stalls for the landlord, and for spending cash I went next door to groom and work horses for the lady next door to us. When I had nothing to do I decided to try to go running on our trails. "Running" consisted of jogging for 30 seconds and then catching my breath. Once I caught my breath I would run again. Pretty soon I was good for about 5 miles total. I lost 75 lbs and went down to a size 8. Then I got hired at my current job in June of 2011. I continued to run, but we like potlucks here and I put on about 15 lbs. Then I lost the 15 lbs. Then gained it. I had lost 10 of it again when I got pregnant last year and put on 25. To this day I have lost 35lbs and have a futurity colt that I am bound and determined to run myself. I want to lose 80lbs total by 2017. My goal is to lose 8 lbs every 3 months so that its not a "huge" deal. I had started eating Paleo, but since I have a very painful complication from pregnancy I have had to switch to a high fiber diet. Which I guess works because I still eat pretty clean and stay away from junk. I know I don't NEED to be 112 lbs, but for the futurity I feel like I do to be a jockey. If I am a lean, mean 125lbs, great, but I also want to let my horse have all that chance to win and I don't want my weight to affect him. Congrats to everyone for your achievements...it's a hard roller coaster of a road! |

Location: where the wind blows | Not sure, to be honest how much I've lost. I'm guessing over 10. I just know I'm wearing jeans I couldn't get into last year. I'd like to loose another 10 but not stressing about it. My secret - quitting my day desk job and the 2 hours of commuting to said job. I got rid of the stress from the job and now that I'm home full time I'm outside helping on the farm, riding 1-3 horses a day and not eating all the crappy junk food I was eating working in the city. I'm not counting calories, just eating good homecooked meals, and staying active. And as I said getting rid of the stress from my day job I think was a huge factor. |

Great job on the futurity colt motivation. I'm in the same boat. However, there are male futurity trainers who weigh 140-175 pounds and win futurities. Lol. I am a guy to so no 112 for me. Lol. I recognize the arena in your avatar and we probably know each other. ?? |

Location: Texas | Well I had torn a groin muscle and couldn't ride for about 3 years. Needless to say I put on some weight. So I saw a lady on FB talking about a product she had that would give you energy, help curb cravings AND help with hot flashes. She sent me a sample. I was sold after day 2. I have lost over 25 pounds so far and am within 10# of what I weighed when I was 30 (that was over 25 years ago! LOL). I feel great have boundless energy and have not had as much as a sniffle this past winter. Oh and NO hot flashes anymore. I signed up to be a distributor that week!! If you'd like some samples message me and I'll send you some. Visit www.lonestar.1vizn.com for product information. |
