My yearlings is on stall rest due to an injury. Has been for a while. Has handled a 10x20 in the barn great. Moved to new house. Now she has a 10x16 shed and a 10x30 run. At first she was mad because the others were lose in a 100x150 lot by her. Then she got over it and was fine. As of yesterday she has started pacing. She has about 30 days more of stall rest. What do I do? She has free choice hay, always has. I'm afraid she's going to walk off her calories and/or give herself ulcers. I got some ulcer stuff to put her on but the pacing.... I thought maybe a toy but idk if it wil help.

I will now goat shop. Thank you lol. She has a "hay bucket" (half barrel) that stays full of good, pretty hay that she munches on when she's hungry but she's not a chow down kind of horse so it occupies her for maybe an hour a day. I have been wanting a goat anyways lol

Year before last my mare was on stall rest for 8 months because of a bad suspensory tear. I took 6 panels and set them up in the pasture beside the pasture the geldings were in so she could see them. I moved the panels daily so she would have frest grass to munch on and hung a hay bag in her pen and water buckets on one of the panels. Worked great. Since she could see the rest of the horses she didn't go crazy.

When we had a yearling on stall rest, we rotated horses in the barn with her. We had 3 other yearling and they each had to spend a day in the barn. It was good for everyone.
