i haven't run barrels in years, but never got over being horse crazy, so I follow some on fb. I've wondered though, when you run at a benefit for someone, do you donate your winnings to that person? I wonder what Miss Manners would have us do? Lol

Years ago, before the 4D, we always donated our winnings to the benefit. Today, I really don't know of many that donate. Years ago, I actually won money. Not any more.

A lot of people donate back - some do take out entry and then donate back. Some don't donate back.

It depends. If it were a cause important to me, like helping out someone I know, I would donate back after fees. But I won a nice check in a college rodeo team benefit this spring and kept it all.  I'm sure they did fine off the proceeds.
