History has been made today. I'm so happy for Victor Espinoza, Bob Baffert, the Zayats and American Pharoah. He will have a charmed horse's life for the rest of his days. |

Location: So. California | AP went to the lead and never looked back. Set the pace and looked so comfortable. When asked, he shifted to a higher gear and kept that smooth stride moving. He had more left to give at the finish line, just WOW! Amazing run/ride!! |

Holy moley that was just a beautiful race, AP didnt even look tired and that boy knew that he is the new Triple Crown winner you could see it in the way he was looking around. Ears perked up the whole time when he crossed the finished line, he knew it |

Actually, the 5th fastest Belmont ever, but still, that is amazing! So glad I got to see it, and have it be a horse I wanted to win (I liked him clear through the Derby and Preakness), he's a horse that overcame the odds. :) |

I missed the race because my free trial of the online stream ran out just before the race started, then I had a patient at work, and caught the post race on TV so that sucked. My perfect TC moment was ruined but it's ok because that wonderful beast of a horse won! Can't wait for Breyer to come out with a model of him. Well then all the commentators on TV don't know what they are talking about, because they keep saying the second fastest time, right behind Secretariat. They probably don't have any one running the stats for them |

The 12th Triple Crown victor ran the sixth-fastest winning time in Belmont history, besting second-place Frosted by 5 1/2 lengths in a wire-to-wire win. He was still a little off Secretariat's legendary ride, but now is second among Triple Crown winners in Belmont finishing time since the race has been 1 1/2 miles.

Not that others haven't been handled as well as he was but you can't breed for freaks, they just happen. |

When you look at his stats no one has come close. I just can't ever seeing any horse beating his record at the Belmont. Even Man of War who actually had a longer stride (28 feet) Secretariat's times beat him in every race comparison. AP is one heck of a horse but still falls short compared to Secretariat. But he could vary well be better in the stud barn. |

I agree... The track record at Belmont 1 1/2 miles is also the world record at 2.24. So a horse has to not only beat the track record, but set a new world record too... Not an easy task....
Big Red was the 1st horse to run the Derby in under 2 minutes.. Sham was the 2nd one hot on his heels. |

Location: Missouri | I'm just glad nothing has changed. IE time between races, not allowing fresh horses in. In my eyes, a triple crown winner should win under any conditions, against any horse. AP did just that. All this talk to change the triple crown standards would only ruin the race. I don't want a triple crown winner just to have one. The elite, now 12, is something that should remain elite. Before Secretariat won, they said it could never been done again, it takes a legend to win a legendary title and it should remain the way it is. |

| I am kicking myself because I did not follow the horses and people involved with this years triple crown series. I usually do, but am dissapointed when there is not a triple crown winner. The hubby and I were on the way to a rodeo and I tried to live stream on my phone only to find out we had just missed the race. :( I am super stoked that I lived to see a triple crown winner. Watching the race replay gives me chills...everytime!! He is a great horse!! I would sure bid on his buddy pony, that is one good looking dude!!! lol. |

I agree. My friend and I were talking about it after California Chrome. We both said if that is how it has always been done then that is how it always should be. The horses before did it under those conditions, I don't see why another horse couldn't. American Pharoah just proved that it still could be done. |

| Wasn't Man O' War held up and never fully allowed to run in most of his races, except the Dwyer when he raced John P. Grier? He also carried up to 138 lbs and was only beaten one time, and only because of a terrible start and a bad ride by the jockey? And he didn't have the tracks of today to run on, either... |
