Recently my gelding has started to urinate when running barrels. He is healthy, UTD on everything and yes his sheath is clean. He is pretty laid back most of the time but does get excited about running but nothing unmanageable. Any ideas what could be causing this? Will be checking with my performance vet tomorrow.

Has the horse had any ace lately, if so I would be asking the vet if this could be the cause as I know it can cause the penis to droop/hang out of the sheath permanently

There could be an issue with his bladder or kidneys. Maybe stones or an infection? I would contact my vet. Just because he appears healthy doesn't really mean it is so.

Same thing happened with a friend of mine's gelding. They had him checked out by a vet at an equine hospital and never did find anything. Good luck I hope you get some answers.
