Location: In Ky following Barrel Races & Walker hounds. | My nephew was born last Thursday, Friday I got a call from my mom and could barely make out what she was saying other than she needed me to get up there, and then she finally got out that the baby has the same heart condition I was born with, but worse. my husband and I got in the truck and made it in time to spend about an hour with him before he was flown to Louisville. He is set to have heart surgery this week, they have him listed as critical, but stable. The condition is called Coarctation. With me, it was caught on a sonogram, some how it was missed on his. I also had to have surgery but I was able to wait until I was 2, with him there is no way they can wait. When I was with him Friday his breathing was very, very labored, and he was gasping every so often. I felt helpless and so, so, so sorry for him. My Mom called from Louisville and said they found out he will have the same surgeon I did, so I know he is in wonderful hands.
I will try to keep everyone updated as I can, if you're on facebook you can check my page for updates also. I will post some pictures of him in a few, he is a cute little guy.

Logan update:
He had a few episodes last night where his heart rate dropped and he stopped breathing. They are upping his caffeine and if they still have issues theyre lowering his prostoglandin a tiny bit. |

He is smiling a lot we have all got to hold him now. He still is attached to stuff and has a port so have to be very careful and hold him really still. |
