Can some of you fine Texas folks recommend a good vet for a pre-purchase exam in and around the Montgomery, TX area? I'll be heading that way on Friday. TIA :)

Dr Honnas @ Texas equine hospital will be your best bet near Montgomery, tx.
What are you coming to Texas to try?

Brazos Valley- Wyatt (Dr. Winchell), Ben or Dr. Sampson I would totally trust. I love BVEH. They do all my lameness and all my repro work. Always spot on.

Matt Randall or Dr Collier at Collier Equine in Waller,  all the vets recommended are great and all stay pretty booked up, you need to call for an appointment asap.

Dr. Honnas is good, however, no Saturdays.  The one time that I did call his office, the person who answered was very rude.  It's sad because he is a really nice man.  I have also heard the same complaint from his current clients about the office staff.

I use Dr. Ryan Lee.  He is a mobil vet our of College Station.

I don't have any experience or comments about the office staff stuff, but I will say I don't blame him for taking Saturdays off. That man has worked so hard for so many decades, it's about time he gives himself Saturdays off. LOL.

I have never experienced rude office staff from Honnas Office. They have always been more than nice. I have had emergencies on sat and Sunday and I call Honnas directly as he gave me his cell and told me to call or text if I ever needed anything. Maybe I am just special lol. Idk. But I know the day my mare coliced I called him And he talked me through different things to try to get her stable enough to get to him. And his team was waiting when we got there.
