Does anyone have any idea what the going price is on an equine egg. Yes I know it is better to purchase the embryo but if there was a mutual agreement between two people that the one person was going to pay all expenses, stud fee, recip mare, mare care and the person that owned the mare was going to have no expenses, what would be an average fair price. Yes the mare is well bred but has had no babies lately and is an older mare. Any ideas?

There are lots of variables - best to ask the person selling. I think it depends on who the buyer is, what they plan to do with resulting baby, stallion they will breed it to, what the mare has accomplished, what her get have accomplished...etc...

When someone says they are selling embryos from their mare what they really mean is eggs. An embryo is after there is already a pregnancy. In that case, you are buying a baby in utero.
