Location: Texas | I bought a Sibley this past year because my tex tan didn't fit my horse. The Sibley fits him perfectly but I've had it six months now and I just am not fond of how it rides. I think the biggest thing is the 4" cantle, the seat just seems really shallow. My tex tan had a nice deep seat and was shaped a lot like a pozzi. Any suggestions on deeper seated saddles around the $1200 range? Im not looking to buy anything new in case it doesn't fit. |

| I love my billy cook. Nice tall horn and deep seat. Mine is a touch small for me now, but hopefully when I lose the weight I put on over winter (all 50+lbs...opps), it'll go back to riding as well as it did when I got it. haha |

| I have a Tex Tan "herford". Made for NBHA. I dont think they make them anymore.. My husband hates that I ride it, but it does have a nice deep seat and its well broke in. I dream of a Double J with bronze hardware..but I just cant make myself unseat the $$ lol.
As far as a medium priced saddle, I have ridden a couple of circle ys my sis has, and they felt pretty good!

| Triple Creek. Rides like a Pozzi and has a nice pocket with a narrow twist through the thigh. You can get it with a 5" cantle or a 4".  |

Location: Oklahoma | I'm going to second the Triple Creek. Mine has a pretty deep seat, but I've never ran barrels in it. I've only rode in it a couple of times, but that's enough to know that I don't want to let it go! You are more than welcome to try it out if you'd like. Mine is on a full QH bars tree.
You might even be able to find used Pozzi if you search hard enough. |

| My son and I both have Court's saddles out of Bryan, TX and we have loved them. Not as pricey as some, but far better quality, horse fit and rider comfort than what we got out of Tex-tan, corriente, etc. |

Location: NC | I actually have a sibley with a 5 in cantle that i love. Bought it used from panther canyon and fits my mare like a glove. I also have a tex tan "nbha" saddle (i dont believe they make them anymore) thats comfy and deep seated but after riding in my sibley feels very wierd (mares hurt and out for a while) |

Location: Montana | I really like my Courts saddle, it fits my horses really well...a little tight on my mare, but I think the reason for that is she gained a little weight, LOL. I also really liked Circle Y saddles, and the one I had fit my mare well. I'd love to try a flex tree (like a Sibley) because my gelding is still growing (he's a 3 y/o) and I think the flex tree or maybe a treeless would help me keep saddle fit issues at bay for longer. |

Location: Texas | you could probably find a not-so-used Coats Lazy L for that price. The original Larry Coats saddles tend to hold their value more but the lazy Ls have just as good quality tree and the leatherwork is about the same. I have a trophy saddle thats a Lazy L and I love it. |

I have three Billy Cooks. Love them and they fit a variety of horses. My favorite is the Buster Welch tree. All were made in Sulfur Springs OK.
You might look into Corriente saddles. They are about $550 and seem to fit most horses. Nice looking saddles took.
If you want to spend a little more ---- I absolute!y love my new Josey Ultimate. They are about $2300 depending what kind of decorations you get.
There you have several in different price ranges. |

I started in one of these and loved it - I now ride in a circle y flex 2 tree KL. Nice mid priced saddle that ran me about $1800. You can find the KK, the LL, and the regular circle y's used for around $1000 or less depending on the additions.
The Corriente's are pretty good saddles as are used Martin racers. Used Martin's will get ya at about $1000 but the Corriente's run about $500-800 in KS.

I have heard good things about Pro Riders.
You can get Martin's for a pretty good price used.
I got a good deal on a used Meleta Brown saddle once and wish I still had it.

You decide what tree you want. What kind of rigging. Tooling. Etc. My hubby has an older model he still uses and loves dearly. I have a 2014 model and I LOVE the newer tree style as far as the seat. It's really comfortable and very user friendly. And still fits the horse great. And is incredibly affordable without sacrificing any quality. They last forever and hold their value pretty well. |

I am glad your new Pro Rider was what you wanted because the one I got was crap - sold it as quick as I could. I loved my old one which is why I purchased another and I paid $200 more for the same saddle I had before only to find it listed for $225 less on the website and when I inquired about that I was told those prices were old - they are still on the website to this day. I did not care for the new tree either as it did not fit my horse and I felt like I was riding on it and not in it. I do know that there is difference between the ones made by Jeremy vs. the ones made by Gerald though and that could explain that. I did love my old Pro Rider though. |

| It's not necessarily mid-priced but on the cheaper side. I LOVE Ran Ten barrel saddles. I had one a few years ago and got rid of it and came across one on ebay last year and snatched it up! They were made in Alabama and aren't made anymore so they can be a little difficult to find. I was told, and believe it, that some were good quality and some were bad. The first one I had was comfy but not the best quality and the one I have now is comfy but a lot better quality than the first one! If you google them, I do see one 15" Martha Josey Ran Ten for sale on a website but other than that they're kinda hard to find. They're so comfortable and I was told they're around $600-$700 new and saw the one I just told you about for $700. I got mine for $450 off of ebay. They might not be for everyone but they have deep comfortable seats and are a good buy for the money! |
