Also wondering what the correct dosage really is. Vet had sold me it was the initial 7 doses, then monthly. I see on smartpak its 7 doeses two times a year, nothing in between.

valleyvet.com is the best deal I have found. There is no proof that the monthly shot provides any extra benefit. My vet said the manufacturer now recommends 2 annual 7 shot loading doses.

When I'm using my hors.es I give it weekly. I figure it is costing me about $40.00 a week I trim them myself, which saves me about $125.00 a month on average. If it helps keep them sound and I don't have to inject them, it is worth the expense. I have used it for years and, knock on wood, never had to inject one.
