My horse was dx'd with some left areytnoid paralysis. Looking to hear about others who has this. Symptoms that told you it was your issue? Treatment? Cost? Surgeons? Any and all details you're willing to share.

I have a brood mare that had this and was provided with a tracheotomy due to her trouble breathing. The paralysis left the flap closed where she could not draw full breaths. You can also look up cicatrix scarring. This is common when things are wet and fungus gets int he airway. Washington Animal Clinic in Brenham, TX has a lot of experience with this sort of thing. They recently had a scandal over a young vet, but Dr. Beunger over there is the most knowledgeable person about this sort of thing. I have a friend who is running CPRA with a horse that has a trach with no issues.
