They were sent the same letter that anyone else got that was selling ulcer meds that wasn't name brand (I really can't remember the details) so I know they were supposed to stop selling after a certain date. Not sure if they are now doing it legally or? I have bought my Pentosan Gold from them with no issues.

I used to have an ulcer prone mare and I would treat her with the horse pre race stuff and had good luck. I have sold the mare so I don't need it anymore. And I buy my Pentosan Gold through them with no ill effects. I've been using them for over a year now.

FDA blah blah blah...lining their own pockets, that's what pharmaceutical companies are doing, paying lobbyists millions of dollars to bash Canadian pharmacies. I take meds myself that if purchased in this country, would cost me about $1200/month. Yes, that is correct. I do NOT have pharmaceutical insurance. Because of Canadian pharmacies I am able to buy the same **** drug manufactured outside the US, at an 80% savings. So there is an article by the FDA warning us not to "go there"? The FDA can kiss my a**.

It is my understanding that the letter is warning them to stop making the products or they will shut them down. Not a warning to us neccessarily.

I bet you are right for Canada, but those letters were threats to shut down the US companies and people per my short skim through of them.

Who wants to use a company (which is based in Panama) where you can't contact anyone within the company by phone?  The only phone contact is the call/order center and they will tell you they have nothing to do with the company itself (other than taking orders).  If you have a problem (as in billing error, bad drug reaction, dispute with the product, etc.....any REAL problem), you have no recourse.  They will not tell you where the products are compounded and the only thing they will tell you for sure is that they only do contact via email.  And that's if they are liking what you are emailing.  Yes, I was a customer......now, no thanks.

I'm pretty sure that's how they get around the prescription requirements. They ship from Florida or Kentucky tho.

company is sketchy...used them for years (they have two names...same ppl) any who their quality has gotten worse and things were misspelled on the last vial of pentosan we ordered and I don't think it was the same potency....won't use them again because there is probably a good reason for that cheaper price, like your not actually getting what they say it is

Precision pharmacy CA omeprazole/ranitidine paste for $11.95 a tube. Google it, you just need a script from your vet. It is the same stuff Dr. Ford and many other vets buy from and slap their label across. It is one of the strictest protocols for generics out there...just make sure you can ship to your state.

I don't care to get into all the political mumbo jumbo with this thread.  I was just curious if anyone had used it and what they thought of the product.  I think it's terrble that FDA approved products need to be so expensive.  Ulcers in horses I think are a huge factor when they are being competed on.  It should not cost an arm and leg to make them feel better. So if anyone else has used this product I would love to hear the outcome.  I try to do the best possible for my horses to make them feel good and be taken care of, but I also need to follow a budget.  Thanks to all of those that have replied.

Precision is the west coast version of the illegal compounding company Wedgewood!  That is all Precision does is make illegal products.  They know the state of California has no money to investigate them and the FDA is slow to do anything.  Therefore they make millions in the mean time!

I just ordered some omeprazole from them last week and received it on Saturday. Will start it in the next few days. I will try to remember to post back and let you know how it works. I know other people that I show with that have used it and have had good success.

I have used the pentosan from there and noticed a big difference in my horses, haven't used the omeprazole yet. I have given the osteophos without any bad side effects at injection time but of course it's way to early to see if it is legit and will help him.

Had our mare scoped for free at a clinic given By GastroGuard at our Vet's office.  She had 2 grade 2 ulcers and 2 other "areas" of white.  They wanted me to give Ulcerguard/Gastroguard for 28 days, then half the tube for 2 more weeks, then 1 week of 1/4 tube a day.  At the prices it would have been about $2000.  I really want to use the brand name but I did not have the money.

I bought 6 tubes of Ulcerguard, was given 2 by the company, a friend gave me 2 she got with a coupon and then I purchased the rest from Horseprerace.  I did the brand name until it ran out, then went to the omeprazol from them and at 2 months paid to have her scoped again and found no ulcers.

I thought it worked, but it could have been the brand name.  I try to buy the brand name as often as possible but we give it daily on the road so sometimes I buy from then.  The product is almost identical, but is thinner and you have to be careful if your giving a partial tube...it will run out where the Gastro/Ulcerguard are thick and work better.

I am torn.  I think the producers of these medications are forced to spend millions to get their products to market legally....and I think that is a gigantic part of the problem, not the "greedy" pharmacitucal companies...I think it's the greedy government.  Because of that, they are forced to price their products high.  Add to that there is little over site to the cheeters (who I have admitedly supported with my dollars) that undercut their legit profit.

HOWEVER, If I had to pay full price for things like that, I probably could not afford to keep this horse on the road and winning.

Some of the things on that site actually kind of scare me...I can't imagine putting some of it into my horse!  But in my opinion the Omeprazol worked.

LOL Wedgewood is not an illegal compounder. In fact, they are one of the few who are PCAB accredited and also work with many states board of pharmacies regarding many laws that Vets face while prescribing.

The issue with compounded omeprazole is that Merial holds a patent on it therefore many pharmacies received a cease and disist letter. Similar to the reason you can not find compounded Adequan.

It did expire in early April of this year, most warning letters were sent prior to then.
