| Gotcha! Hmm, I'm not much help either. Lol. I guess it also depends on if she's bringing her own food or is eating your's, has animals of her own she has to take care of at home, etc. But I'd say around $50-$100! |

| How much farther is it for her to commute for work? I would calculate this into it.
I would figure out how long the chores will take and pay 20/hr
If they won't take anything, buy them something they will appreciate
When I went to Vegas for 10 days my horses needed the water tanks filled up 2 times, the person had to travel 1/4 mile and it took the tanks about an hour to fill, she wouldn't take money, so I bought her a great quality rawhide headstall, she greatly appreciated it. |

Location: MI | We generally figure $15-20/visit depending on how many horses and dogs we have home. Generally it is 5 horses, 1 huge pig, 2 calves and 2 steer as well as 2 outdoor dog. When gone, we have people come feed 2x/day; morning generally takes 30min (no one is grained, dogs aren't fed), evening takes about an hourish - everyone is on pasture. |

Location: California | I have a former student help me out when I'm out of town. She's 21 now and is very dependable. She lives about 20 minutes away and comes out twice a day to feed my 3 horses, 4 goats and 2 mini-donkeys. It only takes about 10 minutes to throw feed and put on/take off fly masks. I pay her $20 a trip/$40 a day. She lives in town, but is a country girl and always says she'd do it for free. |

| I paid $200 for 3 days, 4 horses, 6 dogs, a few cats-feed 2 x day, 15 minute drive to my house. She was a very reliable, knew horses so would recognize a problem, could haul to the vet is necessary. I paid her well so she would want to continue to help and I could be gone with out having to worry about my 4 legged crew. |

Location: Pacific Northwest | I housesit for like 3 different people. Everyone pays me something different. I don't ask for anything, whatever they give me is okay. It's anywhere from $50-$300. One place is right down the road from me, 2 horses and 2 cats. The other is my cousins, which is in town but closer to my work. 4 dogs, 5 horses, 3 cats. The other lady is just 2 dogs. I housesit for them all on a regular basis.

| We pay 25-30$ per day (24 hours) to house sit, that is to take care of a dog and watch the horses. Barn chores we pay 8.50 per hour. |

Location: South of Canada and North of Mexico | I was paying my SIL's sister to stay at my house last summer for 3 months, 2 dogs, 3 horses (one needed grain twice daily in a stall) and 3 cats. I paid her $200 a month, which I think was fairly cheap. |

Location: run2win land | It really depends on what chores are required. Three horses take 10 minutes a day to feed. I have someone coming to stay who will also keep horses legged up while I'm gone and check in on my elderly mother. I'm paying $50/day. |

Location: west of East Texas | I've had several do that for me. 7 horses, 3 dogs, 2 barn cats. The ones that have actually stayed here got $25/day and all the food and drinks they wanted. Now I pretty much use the retired rodeo mom that lives a mile from me and approached me about just wanting to do something with her time. She comes once a day and charges $20/day when we need her. For a couple of years, I had the best deal. My office assistant just wanted to stay somewhere besides her mom's house so she stayed overnight, was free, and begged me to let her do it when she heard I'd be taking a trip. |

| I figured in the IRS mileage rate= ~.56 a mile, which meant each time I went to their house it was $8, so $16 in mileage a day, then 20 for labor to take care of 4 horses, 3 dogs. I fed, gave hay, cleaned stalls, and drained and cleaned automatic waterers. She also wanted the barn blown out each night. So I asked about $35 a day total but I wasnt staying at her house.. I dont really think that wouldve changed the money, as I could sit on her couch just as easy as mine, LOL. I am guessing the cows just get fed together and need water checked?? |

Common Sense and then some
Location: So. California | Write down a list of chores you want this person to do. Feed, water, clean stalls, fly masks/sheets, pick up dog poop in the yard, etc... Be specific. You can then determine what you should be paying. I think a minimum $50 per day. |

| I pay at least $20/day plus leave homemade treats and unlimited access to all the chicken eggs they could want and that's not even to stay at the house. We have wonderful people in our neighborhood that I trust with my horses and they're close enough to make it easier to drive over. Mine are easy, just throwing hay to the horses and refilling waters at least once a day. If they need grain, it's all pre-measured and bagged so they can just grab and dump. The dogs are more complicated but often I take them with me anyway. The chickens just need to be checked on to make sure everyone's there and they have water. Once a day, we have them turn on the water for the garden when they arrive and shut off when they leave. But that's only if we're gone for more than an overnight. If not, I tend to soak it all and take care of it when I return the next day. The cats are indoors and annoying, so if I ask someone to stay, I'd add at least $10 a night and have all the food they could want. Staying somewhere else is a pain because you basically have to pack all your stuff or return home to get ready. Otherwise, I just have them leave the house alone and only worry about outside. If we needed someone to stay and they had cat and dog duty, I'd expect to pay at least $50/day, if not more. |

Location: Texas | I'm going through the same thing right now. Except on top of 3 dogs (2 that have suddenly decided they hate each other so have to be kept seperate) and a cat... Our friend will be making a trip to the store every day for our business. He will also be going every night to close with my employee. Which she is good, so that part will only take him 10 minutes tops and our store is 3 minutes from our house.
I've been sitting here trying to figure out what is fair. |

Location: Colorado plains standing on a goat head! | We pay a wonderful lady $50 per day for taking care of 2-4 horses, 2 dogs and 2 cats and she stays at the house at night. Even if the house and barn are clean when we leave, they are cleaner when we come home! She's wonderful! |

Location: Kentucky | We pay $10 a feeding, morning and night. $5 per stall, they are in 12 hours and out 12 hours. They pretty much just need picked out and with only 4 horses it takes no time. So 4 horses, 2 dogs and several barn cats. He might have to through some feed to the cows if they come down. $10 a night to stay at my house with my two dogs. I always have the house stocked with food and drinks but he usually brings his own ( Food allergies)

| I was just paid $200 for 3 days. I also stayed at the house and watched everything while they were gone. And that was to take care of 4 horses am and pm Feedings and cleaning stalls. 2 inside dogs that have anxiety issues when the owners leave. They pay me well but also know I'm very reliable and they have nothing to worry about while they r gone. |
