What's the best bang for my buck to buy? Had an ice horse machine but it took forever to get the legs actually feeling cold. Looking for more of a soaker or Velcro wrap with ice inserts? Anyone know what's good?

About 12 years ago on a work trip I stumbled across a Swiss company called Liquid Ice.  The had been doing some rehab work in the medical field as far as cold/ice treatments and had developed a wrap for horses called Liquid Ice wraps.  They looked like white ace bandages, and came with a solution to dip them in to "activate" them.  Wrap the legs just like you would a polo and leave them on for an hour or so (or on the trailer ride home).  These wraps were amazing.  Take them off, roll them back up, wash them, dip them in the solution to activate for next time.  Being that it was a bandage you could also use on a hock or knee if needed.  I even used it on myself one time when I stepped out of the trailer and turned my ankle resulting in a fracture.  These wraps made all the difference in the world.....way better than the cryo-cuff the physical therapists had me using.  I wish I could still get these Liquid Ice Wraps, and maybe I can if I ship them from Switzerland or something.  We need a dealer here in the US!

However I did find this stuff.  May be the same and looks like it's for sale in the US.  May have to try it!  I loved that Liquid Ice stuff.  I wasn't a TRUE believer until I used it on myself.

Ugh....maybe not.  :(  I've contacted both companies, as I would love to be able to get my hands on these again.  They work by drawing the head out rather than forcing the cold.  They evaporate heat and compress so you get the benefits of both.  Someone who is already a dealer for other products/supplements should become a dealer for one of these companies, preferably the Liquid Ice, as I KNOW what it is.  Used to be able to buy 2 wraps with a bottle of recharge in a pack.  So  two packs for each horse.  LOVED THEM!

I have a game ready and I do love it, but don't use it as much as I do my ice boots.

Jt is the brand, and I found them on amazon, generally around 20-40 boot. These stay cold the longest, I have tried the cool wraps (blue silicone stuff) and rejuvenate gels, pro choice.

The jt brand stays cold for an hour on the leg, easy to clean, just hose them off and stick them back in the freezer

I really like my Ice Vibe boots... Use them all the way around for 20-30 min.  Only drawback is that they have to be frozen.

Ice Horse makes some great ice wraps for tendons, hocks, etc. I have the hock wraps and my horse loves them. His hocks and lower legs feel cool after leaving them on for a few minutes. I usually leave them on for 20-30 minutes.

I ordered Pro Kold boots and really like them. I had ordered another pair from Valley Vet called EZ Ice and wasn't impressed. The pro Kolds stay cold for a couple hours and contour to their legs. I paid $30 a boot and it includes the icepacks. Good luck!

I think you can order this stuff. I put some in a cart and it let me pick the U.S. As a ship to country. I don't know the $ conversion though

I just cold hose for 20 minutes, then if their is still quite a bit of swelling, I'll use our off brand ice boots (Reusable, gel-like, wrap. Works good enough).
