Location: Red Raiderland | Hi my BB's! I gotta get this off my mind a bit so I am going to type to y'all. I gotta go in for kinda major surgery on Monday and I gotta be honest, I'm getting nervous. I have been having a few health issues since Jan and they just never got better. I'm so bummed and its possible I'll have to have a full hysterectomy. It won't be a straight forward hysto because of some preexisting junk going so i won't even know if i have full hysterectomy or just left ovary removal until I wake from surgery. Any advice from y'all on what it is like to be an avid barrel racer and go through this surgery? I have awesome BB friends on here that helped me through my Jan. issue and I LOVE them for that{{{{hugs}}}} !! Any and all advice and just support would be so appreciated.

| Prayers for you! Boy, I can imagine how anxious I would be going into surgery not knowing what the outcome will be till I wake up, I like to mentally be prepared. I have a few friends who have had full hysterectomies and they are doing great, life for them is better now that their health issues have been treated. Hugs and keep us updated! |

You do. If you fit and healthy you will do well. Hugs and get well soon. |

Location: Riding Crackhead. | I had a full hyst in October. There were complications but only because I'd had a C section 19 yrs prior and was full of scar tissue that had to be cleaned up and in the process my bladder ripped. My little 1 1/2 hour surgery took 8 hours and 4 days in the hospital. Recovery from the hyst was easy. The bladder recovery was a gross ordeal that took some time. |

Location: In the Hills of Texas | I had a complete hysterectomy back in 1980 and what I remember the most is I felt so much better and instead of being sick I had minimal pain from my incision. I would do it all over again in a heartbeat.
Hugs and prayers! |

CYA, I am so sorry that you had the bladder ripped as I do hear there is a chance things like this can happen. I sure hope that after all these months you are doing much better. I, too, have the added complications of an abscess that I suffered back in January and the doc told me it might look like a bomb went off in there and they really won't know exactly what they are dealing with until I am opened up......I am freaking nervous! I have never had major surgery so I'm kind of feeling a little lost about what to expect. |

I feel so much better now that it was all worth it. One of my girlfriends had a hyst in May. She's doing amazing and ready to be cleared to ride again. You're going to be great! |

Location: NE Texas | I just wanted to let everyone know that I spoke with kaycee and she asked me to update everyone with how her surgery went. She said everything went really well and that she had a complete hysto. Luckily the th scar tissue was only around the left ovary and her colon looked great, so there was no need for any colon resection. Great news for her!!! She said she should get to go home tomorrow. Thanks to all for their thoughts and prayers! |

Location: Red Raiderland | Thank you all so much for the awesome support!!! I am not nearly as sore today than I was yesterday, which brings me to the BIG PROBLEM: How the hell am I going to sit around for 6-7 weeks!?! I'll go insane! I will not overdo anything and will not get in the saddle till Aug. 24th but holy cow, how did the rest of y'all cope? |

Location: Red Raiderland | Well, I am almost at the 8 week post-surgery mark and I am soooo excited about getting to ride again. I have my post-op check up on Monday and I have been getting better every day. I had some small setbacks but for the most part I am healing fine. I have been doing my evening walks as usual and I know I will have to regain a lot of strength but I am absolutely ready. The HRT has been an issue but I guess once I get it all balanced life will be pretty darn good. I have had some insomnia and a few migraines due to the fluctiations in the estrogen but I can see the horizon from here. I will be back on my horses on Sunday. CAN NOT WAIT!!! |

BRD, I feel much better this week and even better than two weeks ago and so on. It is major surgery and it takes more energy out of you than you could ever imagine. Did you have robotic surgery for your fibroids? I sure hope you get to feeling better because the pain is the pits. Take it easy and take good care of yourself while in recovery. |
