I'm looking to buy a horse in southern indiana (im from Texas) and I want to get her vet checked... I want a good vet that has no ties with the owner (as I have been screwed by using the owners vets before)... I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions?

Agree with Stone Ridge Equine. Lafe Nichols is right across the river in KY. Wills is in Owensboro, ky. Not that far across the Rockport bridge. Could get numbers if you need.

The best horse vet in that whole area is Dr Luel Overstreet. He's in Henderson, Ky. Just across the river from Evansville, In. In addition to being a vet he is one of the leading standardbred trotter owners and breeders in the country.

He only works half days now, {mornings}, but you can't get better. he's got a "bedside" manner that many don't care for and he ain't cheap. They call him "overcharge". But the reason he can charge more is because he's worth it.

I see someone mentioned Lafe Nichols above. He would be my second choice. Excellent horse vet. he apprenticed under Dr Overstreet.

Dr Overstreet-270-533-1818 or 270-826-6291
Dr Nichols- 270-826-2331
