Location: Mare Estrogen Capitol of Oklahoma. | I have ran one personally and bred to him and know several that run them. Amazing sire. I have 2 daughters of his that are 1d producers and I can't fault them. Great builds minds and ethic. I knew his original owners and trainer and his owner now. He's one I would never overlook as a sire of performers who's daughters are producing. |

Location: Oklahoma | I've rode several and have LOVED each one! They were all unique, one was a really nice bay mare that I sold to a girl in TX- she was about ready to haul and exhibition. She was sure light footed, soft in the face and extremely talented. She was bigger than a couple of the others I've rode but did everything with ease. One of them I have now is actually advertised here on BHW. He is a 2 year old, he won't get as big as the mare I sold this spring. Rides like a jewel, no buck, quiet, easy going and so willing. Honestly, I think 95% of the barrel racers out there could take him and do big things! He's easy, smart and not like most 2 year olds! I hate to sell him but we've got a barn full and I know someone will love him & do really well with him. I think Sweet First Down is a good choice for alot of the FWF, DTF and FG mares. Plenty of run and plenty of bone, none have been fine boned where I worried about soundness issues as they got older. |

Location: Traveling Gypsy | I have 3 SWEET FIRST DOWNS. THEY ARE AMAZING!!!!Sweet Lena Jet was the first. He clocks huge. And it's effortless. And when he does make a mistake... he still wins. That's the kind of horse you have to have nowadays!!! A horse that can find a way to win. Not find a way to lose. My other one is SWEET CHOCO TACO. Amazing on the pattern. I hate to say it.... but he wasn't riding the best when I got him. So we just started yahoo running him on pattern at home (bc he had less than desirable previous breaking at the track = no power steering AT THE TIME). WELLLLLL LET ME TELL YA!!! WOW AND HE LEARNED IT FAST. It too is easy for him.The 3rd is just a 2yo, Sweet Fast Ride. He is so well minded and rides like a dream. Got him broke and going and turned him out before I (me personally) got too overzealous!!! Wink winkI will take a barn full of them!!! |

| Hi there I saw your question on the sweet first downs. I'm on the east coast and just had the privilege of training my first sweet first down. The gelding was nothing short of wonderful! Bought him as a under fed 3yr old in November. The poor boy was just track broke and clueless on how to even trot a circle. I told in my client maybe he would make a5yr old futurity colt. Well I was wrong 6months later at 4yr he not only made the futurity he brought home a check. Cought a barrel in one of the go rounds for the unofficially fastest time.
Tbe colt was nothing short of simply a natural. Since then I'm currently researching and looking for more. I have found they are very very sound and sane horses. I have been in contact with sweet first downs owner Erin Goings at Cayon Edge Ranch. I found her very easy to talk with, very informative and eager to help. I would strongly encourage any to look into sweet first down foals, I feel SFD is Nebraska best kept secret.

| I bred two of my best mares to SFD this year.
I had been watching him for a long time but didn't think he was getting the attention he deserved.
When Erin bought him I knew it was game on for this guy.
She is breeding an exceptional group of mares to him.
Whether you want to send a colt to the track or the barrel pen, he should not be overlooked. His colts are in some of the best hands out there.
I do know that in 2016 his name is going to be on the FF sire list. He is also a BBR select stallion, Triple Crown 100, WPRA/PESI.
Seeing his offspring and having dealt with Erin on a professional level in different circumstances, it was a no brainer.
I am ecstatic for my SFD babies in 2016.

Both mares are AAAT. 1 of the mares is a half sister ( dams Side) TO little Oakie Dash ( LTE $35,000)
