Tennessee woman arrested on charges of misrepresenting sale of horse to Texas buyer
lawbadge
A Tennessee woman was arrested Thursday in Marion County, Tenn., by the Marion County Sheriff’s Department and investigators from the Tennessee Department of Agriculture on felony theft charges out of Falls County, Texas. Lydia N. Culp, 31, allegedly sold a barrel racing horse to a victim in Falls County, Texas, from a post on Facebook.
The horse that was shipped from Tennessee to Texas was misrepresented and arrived sick and malnourished. Culp was operating under numerous aliases and was alleged to be shipping horses that were misrepresented all over the U.S. Culp is currently in the Marion County Jail awaiting arraignment.
TSCRA Special Ranger Marvin Wills led the investigation with the assistance of the Falls County District Attorney’s Office. Wills warned that livestock is traded daily on the internet and social media.
“Livestock buyers should be aware that photographs and descriptions posted on internet transactions may be altered and misleading,” said Wills. “Buyers should get credible references from the people they are purchasing livestock from. People engaged in this type of criminal activity rarely use their true identity, thus making it difficult to prosecute them.”
Wills would like to thank the Marion County Tennessee Sheriff’s Department, Tennessee Department of Agriculture and the Tennessee Highway Patrol for their assistance in the case. |

I've never dealt with her, but plenty of others on here have. Hopefully they can get some justice. |

Good point. As with any other criminal activity the police will usually ask for " Others who have fell victim to this crime" to come forward. It happens a lot. Then ALL of the people she has scammed can get on the lawsuit as Plaintiffs. That way she wont have to be tried a million times. If all victims are named, then those attorneys can file lawsuit. ANyway, its going to be very difficult for her to talk her way out of this one. I'm surprised it took this long to catch her! |

When did she jump bail before this? If this is true, bail should have been denied to a known flight risk. You can get a bench warrant sworn out for failing to show up for a traffic ticket.

Location: Sunnyland Florida | Well, great....now she's home and back at it. She's good at this. Dealt successfully for YEARS in Florida and just kept changing it up (her name, store name, etc.). Our justice system is seriously lacking.
Watch out folks - different name now! Buy from known stores, not the internet or FB or EBay!

I don't understand how someone can live like she does. Lying and stealing and then when she gets caught she acts victimized... Mental illness? |

| It's kinda horrible to say and people may think I'm nuts but sometimes people like this just need a good whooping...like a debilitating whooping that would make her think about what she's done since the law isn't doing much
(I think Hillary Clinton needs one too...lol) |

They probably dont extradite on those types of charges. We pick people up frequently with out of state warrants or we even stop them on the road. If they dont extradite, all we can do is advise them of the warrant and let them go. She also could have posted bond on the warrants in Florida once she was arrested. I dunno what her warrants are for but theres a good possibility that they are not body only. |
