Location: GODS country | I am looking for something to help performance and the digestive system on an older gelding. I have heard great reviews on both products, but I am not sure how well feed-through joint supplements work. The Acti-Flex senior has digestive support in it as well as joint additives. |

Which do you use? I have used Previcox before and that works well. |

Location: 31 lengths farms | Have no experience with the Acti-Flex but love Forco. Started feeding it about 2 months before I hauled to Pendleton for the 4th of July race a few years back as I heard that it helps diminish cases of colic and since my horses are not used to hauling long distances I wanted to do what I could for them. Also started my mare that I wasn't taking with me on it. She wasn't going because she had been off and on lame since getting in a trailer accident the previous year. Kept popping up with abscesses in her feet and also had sarcoids. My horses I hauled did great, no digestive upsets during or after the trip which was a 12 hour haul and like I said, they aren't used to hauling and being gone from home so that was a plus. When I got home I noticed the mare who had the sarcoids, the one under her throat latch and the one on the inside of her gaskin were gone or nearly gone and the big one on her ear had dried up and was dangling from a piece of skin, had the vet out to remove it, only took one stitch, the sarcoid had been the size of a large gumball. She had been on it about 2.5 months at that point. Then the next thing I noticed is she quit popping up with abscesses in her feet and was no longer doing the on and off lame deal. Someone on here explained it as that the Forco helps with the digestive tract, help eliminate inflammation in the gut and once that happened her immune system finally was able to deal with all the other crap going on with her system from having to be on long term antibiotics from the hock infection she got in the trailer accident. |

Location: NW | these products are like comparing apples and Oranges. :)
The acti- flex has Lactobacillus But that only works with lactic acid in the front part of the gut.
where FORCO is a Prebiotic and works in the whole gut for the horse to digest and utilize all nutrients to the cellular part of the body, so they can preform better. if they do not have proper digestion they can not use there nutrients correctly in the body.
I tell people if they can only afford one product for their horse then get Forco because first and for most you need proper enzymes for digestion and the older they get the more enzymes they loose.
I hope this helps you :)
