| Just curious to see what people like these days. What would your "dream" cross be for the bloodlines of a barrel horse?
Mine would probably be Bug In my Frosty x an Easy Jet mare (I'm no expert on crosses, so it could be a terrible cross and I wouldn't know it! lol) |

| Terrible for one person is perfect to another. Look at Beduino horses. I love them, some people despise them. For me, I'm trying to put some FDD on the bottom and Sun Frost on the top. In my opinion that is hard to beat.

BAin75 and FWF is a magic cross. I have a 5 year old by a son of FWF out of a granddaughter of BAin75. Haven't started him on barrels yet but his full brother is making a nice horse and I love to ride this one. |

| I love Dividend breed horses, although I maybe the only one! I've been on a great grandson and 2 with him just one off their papers and I love the way they put their feet down. Most popular bloodline with him I know of is Windy Ryon = Ronas Ryon. So that crossed with some speed like A Streak of Fling would be my true love, lol! :) |

Location: Dearing, GA | I would love to have a Panther Mountain or Tres Seis baby. I also like Sunfrost horses... Other than that, I just love old ranch horse blood lines. In my opinion/experience, they have excellent work ethics and tend to be built a little more sturdy than running breds. |

My personal newest favorite too! Never owned one till my new mare and now I want 20. Brains......speed.......soundness. What I look for 100%! My biggest question is this- What do you cross the mare that is bred like this on to continue it? |

Location: In the saddle enjoying the East Texas sky | I like them running on top and cow on bottom. I have never had success crossing a cow stallion on a running mare, but a running stud on a cow mare. That's as close to perfection as I've ever seen. Honestly I don't know why it's only worked like that for me but I'm not one to question it. My ideal horse would be out of a Doc Bar daughter and a son of Streaking Ta Fame and Rare Bar. Granted I'm not aware if such a stallion exists, but I just love those two stallions and if I could find one with Streaky and Rare Bar I wouldn't hesitate to breed to it. |

Great cross! At least I sure hope you are right. We bought part of a stud prospect that is a grandson of Sun Frost on the top and Dash Ta Fame on the bottom. He'll have a couple of foals next year and I'm sure excited to see them even though they won't be ours.
So I was really hoping for some specific ideas on bloodlines that would be good for mares for him! I'm thinking I'll give him one of our Rare Bar daughters next year and a daughter of My Indian Money (our Paint stud) or two. And I do have to agree that anything with Shawne Bug in a broodmare would be great . . . those old girls produce!

| I have 2 geldings out of a FDD son and both are extremely talented. One is out of daughter of reckless dash out of TB mare the other is out of an own daughter of Holland Ease and Shawnee Bug mare. They are super talented and smart. However, my absolute favorite in my pasture is my Ivory James gelding out of Runaway Winner/Sinn Fein mare. Absolutely, the easiest, smartest, talented horse I've ever handled. I have another gelding out of same mare and son of corona cartel and he is equally smart and talented but a little bit of a rascal. I have him to my daughter LOL |

I'm betting it might wind up being a real awesome cross. My Merridoc gelding was the most talented thing I've ever sat on. |
