Bump, any opinions? Am I missing something? Those that feed Renew Gold straight how much do you feed? What kind of hay do you feed? How much work does your horse do?

Those that don't feed Renew Gold straight, how much Renew Gold do you feed and what else do you add?

I LOVE IT!! My horse looks like a million dollars on it, I get compliments everywhere we go.  He gets ridden 4 - 5 days a week, has good pasture and only gets 1 good flake of bermuda feed a day in the spring/summer/fall or whenever grass is good. He only gets 1lb/day of Renew Gold. His mind is great on it. I can't say enough good things about it.

I love it. I have a very large, naturally lean horse that tends to be a pretty hard keeper and he looks fantastic!

He is on pasture 24/7 - which right now is not very nice pasture, it is pretty dry and just is not as nutritious and delicious as it usually is (we are in a drought right now in my area).

He gets 2 lbs of RG every day - he is 16.3 and his healthy body weight is between 1300-1400 lbs, so it's not like I'm feeding BabyFlo or Stingray here. lol His supplements include Trifecta by HorseGuard which is a mineral supplement + gut + hoof +coat, and Silver Lining Herbs "keep cool"

In addition to his RG, he is currently getting free choice alfalfa with his pasture, but when our pasture is nice he gets about two flakes daily.

Okay, so feeding 2 lbs is not uncommon. Sounds like what hurts me is that we don't have them on pasture. We have limited land so they are fed hay year round.

I wish I liked feeding alfalfa cubes, they can be a pain. Their current hay is good quality, but it is not alfalfa.

I do think it looks like he is starting to gain what he lost back. We will see how pictures compare next week.

I have always fed it straight (sometimes add fly control pellets or joint supplement). I have fed it with several different kinds of hay, and they are always efficoent and slick looking. My brood mare was boarded for her last bit until she foaled and they didn't keep up on the RG. She lost a little weight but 2 weeks post partum is already gaining it back on 2lbs/day.
Keeping up on their teeth is crucial. I've rehabbed a senior who was badly neglected, raised colts, had them in training, done just maintenance, and fed it to my broody. I'm yet to see it NOT make them look good. Oh yeah, even my 16yo Shetland pony is sleek and pretty and gets compliments everywhere we go. I've fed it for a few years now and I'm a fan.
