I have ridden in treed saddles for years, but switched to treeless saddles (Bob Marshall) about three years ago so I could ride a wide variety of horses without soring one up with an ill fitting saddle. Now, I've bought back a horse I used to own and would like to get a treed saddle for just him. I've looked into Triple Creeks and Double Js. I have a big booty and thighs, so I'll need a 16 inch seat. I like forward hung stirrups. Where would you go for a custom saddle in the $2000-$3000 range? I've "window-shopped" but would also like a company to help with custom fitting to my horse, too.
I recently was put into contact with Vernon Purdy. His saddles start at $3200, but from what I understand they fit a horse excellent. He has a background in biomechanics so he designed the tree on the way the back actually moves not just on older theories. You can find him on Facebook.

Thanks, I just sent him a friend request. His saddles are pretty, I'd be interested to talk to him a little more.
