I have had my F250 for several years and always kept up the maintenance pretty regularly but now need some advice! I have noticed that when I'm hauling I hear the transmission cooler alot more. I just recently had a transmission flush done and they said all was good but yesterday I was hauling just the trailer (no horses, so not alot of weight) and while driving the transmission cooler was so loud I couldn't believe it! We did have the a/c on but I don't think that would affect anything..................any help would be greatly appreciated!! What could be wrong or does this sound normal? Help please!

He said it sounds like the engine fan stayed on. You wouldn't hear the trans cooler because it is in front of the radiator. Where were you driving and how hot was it?

I had a 2002 Frod F250 that did the exact same thing. I had the fan clutch, turbo, basically you name it I had it replaced. It still did it. No mechanic ever understood it or even cared IMO. I took it to probably 10 mechanics. It never effected the vehicle but it sure was annoying. Recently by bosses F350 started doing it too. I honestly think it is just a Ford thing at this point. Feel free to PM me if you have any questions.
