i have a huge runoff problem at a place i just foreclosed on
the water comes from arena and has created a red dirt hardpan that is about 15 wide 30 long not all hardpan but..
my idea some old hay bales in a line to slow water and sprout also old hay scaraped heavly and manure which we have a lot of as they did not clean the barn for a good while
any more out there by the way we in georgia i have to hire it done as this quad is not that handy so looking cheap efffective ways
The water has to be coming off some hillside then across the arena etc etc ...
The only 5-10 year fix is to dig a ditch twice as deep and twice as wide as you think
you need to re-direct the incoming water flow against the hillside and roll the dirt into a pasture like terrace on the downhill side ... this will allow silting to fill up the ditch
half way so it will end up the depth and size you first wanted ...
Without seeing pictures of how much slope and where things are located tuff to be specific ...
the brush i have used in past in pastures but this is leaving the arena headed to barn plus i amd trying to fix it to sell i floreclosed on this place 3 weeks ago and shees
barrel horse its coming from slope of arena and the back i amd when we lived there was not a problem but they have done something to o it but i get some pictures

OK. BarrelhorseUSA has the right idea... Terrace it and use that to divert the runoff.
