| Feed store in Sealy: $19 for 2 strand- 50 - 60 lbs. $27 for 3 strand - 100 lbs. I have a friend who gets a truck load from New Mexico and sells the 3 strand for $25. |

| Are all of you giving alfalfa prices? Sounds pretty cheap to me! I'm paying $32 a bale for 3 strand, but the weight is 150 plus. Can't remember last time I even saw 2 strand. |

Yes it's alfalfa goofball! You know we don't carry 3 strand. T said he's pretty sure where you get yours and they have good alfalfa over there. |

| Holy cow. I feel really lucky. We have been paying $12 for really really nice three strand. With no tax. But I know we grow it year round here. Will not be complaining of that price again. |

Location: Prosser, WA | Wow. Those are light bales. Around here 3 strand bales are about 115 lbs., I bought some Timothy 3 strand and the truckers all charged more per ton to haul them because they considered them light bales at 100 lbs. Most of the 2 string bales are 80 to 90 lbs. |

Location: Fort Worth / Springtown | 2 strand at a local feed store that says they are 50-60 lbs, but they are way less than that - $18-20
2 strand (another place) - I weighed them at 60-65 lbs $16
3 strand about 115# $28
3 strand about 140# $33
It was costing me close to $800 per month to feed 3 horses and a pony and I was searching for a change quickly. The stems were not getting eaten and turning into bedding all over our pasture.
Now, I just bought 6 strand? approx 1500# for $270. It is going great so far.

| I bought some 3 strand alfalfa advertised as about 100 lbs. It actually weighed 85 lbs so I would have been better off buying the 2 strand as it cost the same per actual pound and was a lot easier to handle. |

| Choice on 2 or 3 strand is simple .... which one can you pick up??
Why don't you look at 50# bags of alfalfa cubes ... they are dried and compressed with less than 8% moisture ... around $10/bag ..
Feed them by weight after you have soaked them for 1-2 hours ... or from morning to evening feeding ...
when in doubt always use the KISS system ...

Location: SE Missouri | I charge $6 for 50# square bale. I don't care if I sell it bc I will feed it. It's roundup ready and expensive to establish and maintain. I had to round bale some alfalfa do to the wonderful resistant pigweed (thank goodness it was not headed out) for $50 4x5 round bale..
We are actually tearing it up this fall and going to all grass (orchard, Timothy and rye grass) for a couple years so we can stay ahead of the weeds and get the water drainage issue resolved. It's a terrible problem and we have chopped and sprayed and I'm tired of only having 5 clean acres out of what started out as 17.. Not worth the battle. |

Most southerners don't feed alfalfa. Problem solved. |
