tried them, they stayed on about 3-4 weeks. they were a pain to get on. Everything has to be just right. If you could find someone who has done a lot of them, maybe they would do better. I did run barrels with them.

I have used glue on shoes for a long time for a variety of reason. I have run barrels in them as well. Few years back I never had a problem with them coming off I did get about 6 weeks out of them. I recently had to go back to using them on a mare and not have had the same luck with keeping them on that long. The shoes are being put on in a university hospital podiatry clinic. You are right everything must be perfect when mixing and drying. I do love how great my mare feels when she is in them. Some horses have difficulty transitioing back to nail on if they are in the glue on for sometime. JMO I think glue on shoes are one of the greatest tools to keep a horse going when all else fails. They are pricey but worth it for the right horse and the right reason.

We did that and it was a PAINE. They have to be glued on just right to even think about them staying on, no turn out and my gelding was ways loosing them when he ran

If you prep the foot and the shoe correctly, you will have to use nippers to cut thru the glue in six weeks.  It does take time to do it right and you have to be absolutely certain you are not trapping any fungus or bacteria under the glue.  The glue does an awesome job at sealing out dirt and moisture but if you seal it in, you will end up with a foot in worse shape than you started.  Done right, your horses foot will get healthier with glue ons.

In my opinion, the biggest trick to gluing shoes on is to know what your glue will do in the temperature and humidity you are working in.

My husband puts on glue on shoe all the time. You should be able to run with them with no problems. You have to make sure not to put anything on the hoof a bit before and a bit after. Your horseshoer should be able to tell you
