We've gone 1400 miles multiple times and we don't wrap their legs. We make around 3 pit stops where we stop for an hour and unload. We try to find fairgrounds where we can turn out and let them roll. Otherwise we try to keep driving all the way through. Hay in front at all times, water at gas station stops. (Although if I can work it I will hang water in the trailer as well.). I figure you make the trip as short as possible. We load up on the shavings (duh).

We have hauled San Diego to Lexington, KY multiple times. I don't wrap legs. I keep bermuda hay in front of them at all times. Every time we stop for fuel, we leave the truck off for 30 minutes and offer water. We lay over in Flagstaff, AZ, Amarillo, TX, and Springfield MO. During the day, our horses do not get off the trailer. I also bed down deep in the trailer and put a fly mask on. At night at the layover facilities, horses get bran mash with mineral oil and electrolytes.
