Location: Do I hear Banjos? | Well we are in the midst of remodeling the first of two bathrooms. The shower is installed and we love it. We had a marble company come and do it rather than us doing tile as now there will be no grout to seal and since it is complete with floor, walls, ceiling we won't have to paint above either.
We will do all of the rest ourselves as we did the tear out and prep ourselves. I need to look at ideas for the floor/walls will go with tile of some type probably. But now I can't seem to find just what we want for a vanity. Online I've looked at Lowes and Home depot and Wayfair. All about the same stuff. And just not seeing "it".
Any suggestions for places online to look? We plan to go to a couple of local places but there's not much here. Wanting more country or rustic I think. Definitely not modern.

Location: Southwest Louisiana | Try a concrete counter top. It can be done to look rustic or you can have it coated with epoxy to be any color. You can also have it stamped when it's being done to look like wood. Some people get really creative with concrete these days! |

Location: newalla,Ok. | You might find an old dresser or some kind of table with drawers and such. Then do what ever kind of finish you might like on it. You can order a piece of granite or whatever you prefer to fit the top, etc..... |

Location: Never in one place long | Have you ever heard of making your own out of concrete?? We are remodeling our bathroom too and my husband made a SWEET countertop out of concrete, then you stain it whatever color you want! It looks amazing and is fairly cheap, takes some work but really unique! |

We need to see this, DLV! If you don't post pics, then it didn't happen! LOL
We're thinking about ripping up our carpet and staining our concrete floors at some point. Would love to do the countertops as well one day. |

I'll get you a picture! It's not done yet but a work in progress, I'll try to remember to send what we have so far and a finihsed one when it's done, we're really happy with it so far and we are considering staining our concrete in our living room also! It used to be the garage of the house! |

Location: Do I hear Banjos? | Wow great replies guys! You have definitely helped give me ideas. We know how to do tile so I believe we will do some type of tile for the flooring. I'm liking some that looks like rustic wood actually. And...we are going to look at installing radiant heat under the floor. No one likes cold tile on their feet in the winter! |

That was me. I have plain walls and a plain dark storage area. The "cowhide" had enough going on that I didn't want it to fight with more patterns.

This is what we have so far Herbie, we ordered a bunch of different stain colors so we can decide which we like best! Hopefully within a week it'll be done!

Location: Do I hear Banjos? | I know...We have been working on this first bathroom for months. It took a while to get everything torn out and all of the prep work done. Then we had to start making real decisions on materials etc. I am VERY happy with the marble shower. We made it a good deal bigger than the phone booth it used to have. But I am having such a hard time pulling the trigger and deciding on the flooring, vanity, walls.
And once this is done...we start on the guest bathroom! lol
The posts and ideas here do help! |
