My bf has finally agreed to work up a piece of ground for me to ride on. We have 2.3 acres and not a whole lot of room once you take away the space occupied by his humongous shop, our small house, and my corrals. How large of an area would you scratch up for doing drills and working a small pattern?

I am interested to know too because I may be trying to disc up an area myself this weekend...

Mine is like 80' or 85' wide. That is not wide enough. On a green horse the distance between 1 and 2 is too tight for training. Go at least 100' wide. I am about 150' or 160' deep that is ok. I can just fit the poles in. But if I did it again I would go at least 100'  x 200'

I have a little patch that is about 65'x110'. And it's not really big enough to make a run, but you can do a fair bit of riding, drills and have a small pattern for slow work.
