My brother is getting married and my boyfriend is going to be his best man so of course I get to help write his speech (lucky me! ;) ) does anyone have any tips or any excperience doing this sort of thing? He's not much of a public speaker so I want to make sure he loves what he has to say so that all he has to worry about is saying it lol
I know this is off topic but let's face it... BHW is the best place to get advice Thanks!!

I've always winged my Maid of Honor speeches but then again, public speaking is something I practically do for a living. My best advice is to not write a speech word for word but to have more of a topic outline that he might have handy. The best speeches of this kind are those that come from the heart and are about your relationship with the groom/bride, a funny story about the new spouse (if you have one or just how you liked them when you first met them) and a wish for their future. Keep it simple and short and outlined so you don't worry about tripping things up.

Look on youtube. There are some pretty funny ones that you could take bits and pieces from. My husband gave a best man speech a couple years ago. He's not known for his public speaking traits and he had the crowd rolling! It was hilarious!
