Between Back on Track products, PHT blankets, and everything in between. What do you all use and WHY? My mare is still running pretty consistently, she's 17 and I'm not seeing any issues at all other than some mild swelling in her back pasterns after a run. Does she really NEED the magnetic blankets, poll packs, fancy leg wraps and everything in between? Just interested in everyones opinions and why they use them!

even though I have a draper therapy blanket and magnetic hock wraps, I do not think they are as good as injections when needed and or an injectable joint product.  I like pentosan....IMO the therapy products probably won't help her as much as a good going over by a vet and then therapy accordingly.  BTW I like pentosan for arthritis in a couple of my horses.  Their hocks get injected as needed...yearly at the most. The two that are on it are diagnosed with arthritis in their hocks.  I think I would be a bit concerned about the swelling......

I have BOT and had PHT

I think they help me mentally more than the horse. (haha)

I think if needed, injections and injectible joint products are the way to go and I consider those to be essential to keeping one sound.

If your horse is swelling and it's not stocking up, I would take her to the vet and have her checked.
