| Welcome!! I've kinda "started" too in a way but this is the second time and this time I'm more involved and have more resources than I used to. So I know how you feel! I'm not from there so I cant offer anyone to get lessons from but find someone that is knows what they're doing and is good, and make sure it's not some backyard know it all that acts like they know what they're doing and don't. I would also start out really slow and with a lot of just regular riding too cause it can be a little overwhelming at first physically and mentally! Keep a positive attitude and don't beat yourself up if you mess up, dedicate your time to it as much as you can if you really want to learn, and stay tuned for posts on here because you can learn a lot from people on here as well as reading good articles and watching videos. Good luck |

Location: North Central Iowa Land of white frozen grass | When my daughters started they thought that they would never be able to compete. Never thought they would be good enough when they compared themselves against the older girls. It took a couple of years and they were just as good as anybody out there. It takes time to get your horse in shape and yourself. You also have to get mentally in shape also. The main thing is go into to it and have FUN. |
