Location: SE Louisiana | Does not matter what it is attached to, anytime you start screwing with the reproductive system on a female, you're gonna have occasional glitches. Even if you just LEAVE IT ALONE, glitches will occur. Don't be quick to lay blame on outside factors. |

| I use it to maintain pregnancies in mares if bloodwork shows that they need it. I have also used it to keep mares that I'm riding from cycling if they have reproductive tract issues. If I suspect an issue I have a reproductive exam done prior to starting them on regumate so that we make sure we remedy the problem first. Like was mentioned, wear gloves. I have gotten to where I mostly just dose by squirting it in their grain. The only issue I've had was with a riding mare that developed a small bag. It was fall and she'd been on it since the spring. She was not painful, had the vet check her out to make sure it wasn't mastitis, pulled her off the regumate and the bag went away. He said that sometimes that can happen with prolonged use, but I don't think it's very common. Very good product. |

| Ive been using it since July. My mare cycles hard and her ovaries will get inflammed by three to four times the normal size! We will keep her on it until this winter when we turn the horses out for a couple months. I wear gloves and put 10cc in her grain (she eats her grain out of the same bucket everyday - and it not used for any other horse). Its worked like a charm. Just as effective as when I was giving it orally.

I've given it to many different mares, and have never had one fight it, even when squirting it in their mouth instead of the grain. Maybe it tastes good?! |

Location: Central TX | I had no previous experience with this product till I recently purchased a mare (gelding owner all my life). Previous owner had her on it to stop her from cycling and I wanted to continue the use because she feels great and don't want to deal with the cycles. I give a muscle shot once a week of 3cc. So far so good! This winter I will stop use till right before spring. |

It takes 30 days to start seeing some improvement and about that much longer (another 30) to get the results most of us are looking for. It won't have an affect over a weekend. |

I disagree... We had results in a few days.
I started riding a mare that had very VERY inflammed ovaries even after she cycled... She was always hot and throwing her head. When we lope she would pin her ears. I didnt think it was right, but the owners said that was normal. First race I made a smoking first barrel, headed to second and she broke in two. Hardest bucking Ive ever felt. I told the owners I would not ride her again until they got her to a vet... the owners thought it was my saddle fit, but I knew it had to be more than that! Turned out her ovaries were highly inflammed at all times. We gave her regumate at the appointment. The next day I rode her it was almost a new horse... the day after that, you would never guess she had any issues at all. We've kept her on regumate ever since and havent had one problem!!
Our vet runs a lot of futurity horses. Their mares that need regumate get it a week before they run to make sure they do not cycle during that time.
Sixpatches - Ask your vet what they think you should do. Everyone opinions and expiriences will be different. |

The only advice I'd agree with here is every horse is different, and I've never met a vet who'd recommend it as an at-will medicine. Talk about screwing up their system. |
