| Just when I think my area can't get weirder. Somebody owned a pair of kangaroos and now they are running rampant across our desert. This reminds me of the time when another neighbor's Osteritch escaped and wouldn't luck have it that it found it's way onto my property. Yep, that bird was running back and forth across our little acreage and scaring the living hell out of the horses. So...what do cowboys do? Well, they bust out their ropes, of course. You haven't lived until you witness your husband and a few neighbors out in your yard trying to rope an osteritch. I don't think any of them figured out what they would do if they actually roped it. Well guess who's husband managed to heel the thing? Oh yeah, mine. It didn't last. Osteritch legs are powerful machines that even a good calf tier wouldn't be able to get a hold of. Eventually the freak of nature lost the rope. (hubby) and there goes the ostritch down the road with his best rope. I didn't didn't bother to tell my husband about the kangaroos on the loose. Who needs their man in the hospital? He's safely asleep while two roos run loose. So far no sign of them. Thank god. |

| Little hopper is still on the loose. I just hope that he found some water and isn't out there suffering. Meanwhile, my kids are glued to the window hoping for a sighting. I'm still hiding my husband's rope. |

Location: SE Louisiana | That's not a kangaroo... That's a wallaroo.... sort of half way between a kangaroo and a wallaby.. |
