I recently watched a video that the mcleods made and it made me think... Horses that are on the road going to pro rodeos are truely amazing creatures! They hardly get turn out, let alone spend much time outside of their trailer, and have to endure so much more than most! Makes me feel bad thinking our horses have it rough!!! Just wanted to give a shout out to the humans and horses that hit the road all year and endure so much! Kuddos!!

Sherry Lynn Johnson and her husband used to fly my farrier to where ever they were to shoe their horses. I guess they still do. They flew him to Cheyenne, California and the NFR. That shows you the kind of care the horses get. They do often get some kind of turn out time.

I thought about that too!!! How the heck do you lug an anvil around an airport??? Lol
My shoer gets flown out to NM and the people bought him a set of tools and leaves it at their house. Might be one solution--sure would weigh down a trailer though!!

You are correct it takes a VERY SPECIAL horse to be a true rodeo horse. The long hours in the trailer only to run then on not so great ground, keep eating and drinking and keep loving their job. They get extra loving and attention from their riders yes because they deserve it and those horses are their world.

Not so much really. I had a good shoeing anvil with a Hardy Hole and turning cams and it was only 70 pounds.
