I hate fab diets and such but I was looking for a quick breakfast or lunch, for on the go or whatever. I bought GNC Total Lean Shake mix, just the small 5 pack of powders, one chocolate and one vanilla, and one of the 4 pk of premixed bottles. I was very disappointed that when I drink one for breakfast I am hungry in 2 hours! It says it is a "meal replacement" but heck I can eat a granola bar and go that long LOL! Anyone else have problems like this?

I thought I would also use it to lose weight, I need to lose about 20 lbs. But I feel MORE hungry after drinking this than if I just ate some crackers. I find this very odd. I think I am going to take what I didn't use up to a GNC store and tell them and see what they say....

anyone have any ideas?

I have a 9 month old baby so meal prepping is sometimes just not going to happen.

Watch the carbs in those shakes. They did nothing for me because I would end up getting too many carbs. I use and sell the Lean shakes by Xyngular. I haven't found any other protein / or meal replacement shake that has so few carbs. Good luck!

ETA - I've been using the Lean shakes since 2013.  Since you like your coffee. . I take Almond Milk and a scoop of my shake in my shaker bottle. . .shake it up. . then I add my coffee!!!  Get my coffee and meal on the go!  I live on this stuff on the road too. Keeps me on track.

I drink a zeal shake for breakfast and then about 10 a zeal wellness for a snack. Best thing I ever did. The shake has 100 calories and only 8 carbs and both vanilla and chocolate taste amazing. The zeal wellness comes in 3 fruity flavors and is also great. Only 50 calories for the snack and I promise you will not be hungry before lunch. I've been doing it for 2 years bc I love it. The wellness will also give you energy and help with many other ailments. I'm a distributor and can send u samples of you want to try it. You won't be disappointed!

You need whey protien... And you have to eat every 2.5 hrs

With an eating plan where you use a meal replacement shake, you're supposed to eat smaller meal portions throughout the day.

I use the 310 nutrition shakes. You order online, it's not a multi-level marketing company - no reps, to pressure to become a rep. They have several flavors. They will even give you recipes on-line. For example, I use 8 - 12 oz. cashew milk (depending on how hungry I am), scoop of the 310 nutrition, a small banana, ice and blend it. Or instead of a banana, peanut butter. If I'm on the go, just mix with water or cashew milk in a shaker bottle and I'm good. I usually have a protein bar with me for a mid morning snack. They have other products too, but I just buy the shakes. If you sign up to be a preferred customer (project shipped automatically on a periodic basis), shipping is cheaper, but I didn't do that. The extra $ is for my comfort that I only get what I want when I want it. The mix is 90 calories per serving, 15 g of protein, 8g of carbs and less than 1 g of sugar. No artificial sweeteners, no hormones, no sucralose, no aspartame, no fructose, no artificial colors, no gluten. Good stuff for me anyway.

I usually have a protein bar with me for a mid morning snack.

Vega One shakes.  Then a snack of pecans or fruit around 10.30 and another shake for lunch.  I make two for breakfast and freeze one for lunch.  Thaw it half way out for lunch.

You can add sugar free pudding to the shakes as well. It helps keep me full a little longer. But I keep carrots and celery and easy/healthy snacks between meals.

I also do the Lean Shakes by Xyngular, I cant stand textures or anything that has a diet taste! I love my shakes, and am full until lunch, I drink mine at around  8am everyday and since April 23 of this year am down 26lbs. I am type 2 diabetic and have been able to stop my medication due to the low carb lifestyle I am living!

Have you tried Le-Vel Thrive?   Super simple deal...get up & take the 2 pills, wait about 20-40 mins then drink the shake & put on a 24 hr DFT (derma-fusion technology) patch each day.  Curbs your appetite & I feel TONS better.  It really helps a lot with energy & generally feeling better.  A couple of people I know that are on it are even noticing their joints aren't hurting & sleeping a lot better at night.  You get up & wanna attack your day.

If you're interested in checking it out, PM me. I'm sure loving the results I'm getting from the Thrive Experience thus far. :)  I have my mom, stepdad, aunt, boyfriend & a couple others all really loving the results they're getting too.  My mom was super skeptical about it but she tells everyone about how awesome it is!  :)

I like to make protein shakes at some point during the day too, although I've never considered them meal replacements because I like to chew food!  lol  I eat 3 meals and 2 snacks per day, usually do a shake as one of the snacks.  I've used Muscle Milk but recently switched to Shakeology because it has so much more than just protein in it.  I'm going to admit, it took me a few tries to fix it how I like it, but seriously grew on me!!   And I actually broke through my weight loss plateau too.  Bonus

I like the Special K shakes you can get at places like Walmart, Target, Walgreens, etc.  The flavors taste good and it will keep me full until lunch.  I don't drink them often, but I do usually keep them in my ice chest when I'm hauling and don't have time/want to for concession stand food.  They do have 29 grams of carbs in them, so that's not great, but they are good tasting and keep me full until the next meal.

My favorites are hemp seed protein powder, and then a Paleo protein powder I get from Swansons. Both are less than $2 per serving and they don't have soy or whey and are all natural. I mix fruit & spinach and almond milk for a smoothie and I have a meal that fills me up for a couple hours.

wow you are tough if you drink the Vega shakes. I got two samples of the vanilla and I took two sips and about puked! I had a bad taste in my mouth for 2 hours. You could probably go on fear factor or survivor lol! I can't hack that drink, ewwww.

That's one problem with those "green/healthy" shakes that have everything in the produce isle in it lol. I love veggies and I eat healthy but I can't drink broccoli lol

Just stay very very far away from the "Raw Meal" shakes (I bought it at the grocery store - very expensive!).  They sound great, but are absolutely undrinkable.

I  like the "Real Meal" shakes the best so far.   http://www.realmealgf.com/

I really like these - the vanilla tastes really good and they aren't gritty at all.  I do mix mine with whole milk.  Coconut milk is also another thing that is good to add.    https://www.naturesbounty.com/optimalsolutions/050875
