I got my BSN last year with the plan of going back to school for my DNP in 5 years. However, some life changes happened making it almost ideal for me to go back to school now. I have no idea what I want to do. I know for sure I don't want to do family practice or really work in a clinic. What other options are there? I currently work in Progressive Care and absolutely love it but I don't think I can be a floor nurse for the rest of my life. I have no desire to go into management or anything like that.

How about an ER or an OR nurse? My sister has a friend who is one and she loves it.

Or have you thought about going to Chiropracter School? My daughter just graduated from chiro school and absolutely loves it. She works at a practice that is located beside a birthing center, so she works with a lot of pregnant women and babies/young children.

I have thought about eventually dabbling in OR or PACU which is why I'm so undecided about going back to school. I'm just not sure which I would like more.

CRNA!!! It's my end goal! California is one of the states that allows CRNA to work independently. And since I don't want to do patient care forever either I figured I would work for a bit in the OR then open my own plastic surgery office and just run it while working a few days in the OR if I want! I am one that I don't think I would be happy retiring early yet don't wanna work to hard as I get older so I figured it was a good balance.
