| I have a person wanting to buy a horse I posted on BHW. Things just do not seem to add up and I was curious if anyone else had dealings with this person. If he is legit than that's great, but I just am not sure. His name is Marc Grieger and works over seas but has a daughter in NYC. He didn't ask hardly any questions and never challenged my asking price. Just asked where to send cashiers check and pick up address. |

Location: Bama | I got two emails from him. I'm 99.9% positive it is a scam. I just deleted it.
Edit.....I didn't read the last few sentences you wrote until now. Definitely a scam.

| I was contacted by email this morning by this person. In only 4 emails he is ready to pay me through pay pal. It sounds awful fishy. Only asked if the horse was in good health. He had seen enough on my ad. It is for his daughter in NY. |

| He also emailed me about training a horse. Said he lived in my town and bought a horse from PA from L Fahr (786)
671-2075. Said he works in NYC and his daughter is 24 and bought the horse for her surprise birthday. |

| Same thing happened to me- Marc Grieger emailed me 2 days ago stating he bought a 4 year old bay mare from L Fahr In PA. And that he wanted me to start this horse on barrels for his daughter who is 24 lived in stephenville with him. But it's a surprise bday pres for her. But he's always gone and working in New York currently. Wanted to send me a check , take out what he owes me for first month payment and then send the rest to the shipper in PA . I spoke with Marc and L Fahr both are extremly hard to understand such as Russian or of Chinese language?
Both phone numbers are from Florida.
Seemed way too strange for me, just simply told him I wouldn't do buisness unless we could work in person and do a cash deal. |

and the check will be over what he owes you.. you send your money from your account to shipper (whom really isnt a shipper) and his check bounces .. so your out money and they are richer..glad you are smarter then they are. |

| This guy is still at it. I came to this thread on barrelhorseworld.com because I googled his name after he texted me. He got my name from care.com and wanted me to care for his 67-year-old mom and 7-year-old son in Carson City where I live. He said he'd pay me $25/hour to be their companion from 9am to 3pm Monday through Friday.
Yes, I fell for it, until I found this thread. I don't understand what anyone would get out of doing this. Maybe he just likes to get people's hopes up.
Anyway, I spoke with him on the phone. He sounds Vietnamese and his new email address is mrc.backyard@gmail.com.

| Yes, he said he'd send me a check for more than what he would owe me for the first week. He wanted me to pay for a grandfather clock and some video games for his son. It sounded strange, but I would never have done any of it until the check cleared. Oh, well...
