| I have one horse that no saddles fit properly. We've tried a thicker pad, thinner pad, lots of different cinches, about 6-7 different saddles, and the saddle is still loose and shifts side to side with about every side. He is a stocky built guy, the only major thing I've noticed about him is he has massive muscle right beside the wither bone on each side. Not sure what the name of that is, but his is much broader then any of my other horses, he is a pretty wide built horse all in all, saddles tend to pinch that area by his withers, and then the saddle just doesn't sit right at all. Any suggestions would be great. I can post pictures if that would help! Thanks | |

Location: North Dakota | Well if it's too narrow there's absolutely nothing you can do. Sounds like you will have to try branching out into some wider saddles with enough flare for the shoulders. Maybe something like a martin that comes in extremely wide widths. What saddles have you tried so far.

| The only saddle that worked on my big horse is a Martin crown c 11" gullet with flat bars. This is the only saddle that didn't make her sore.
I tried the tod sloan b3, not wide enough
Lisa Lockhart extra wide (discrepancy if this is now the wide, some say the extra wide is wider then the current wide) sored my horse up the most, it made her cold backed.
Another saddle to try, I never did is the Lynn Mackenzie nueva tree

Can you travel way up North to let me try your saddle on my wide mare?
Nothing so far, fits her either and not a lot of folks up here have wide saddles to try. Sigh... she hasn't done anything to warrant a custom saddle and since I can't sell anything, buying one just to try on her doesn't seem like the wisest course of action SO will you drive up here to let me try your saddle? If I asked you pretty please????
