I am backing those in law enforcement today (and every day)! As in any profession or group of people in general, there will always be a few rotten ones that try and spoil the rest of the good ones. I have been married to a man who has been involved in almost every aspect of law enforcement there is. From being a cop on the streets, to Police Chief, to a District Attorney Prosecutor, to a professor and head of a criminal justice division at University here in Texas for almost 40 years, I can tell you that I have probably seen it all. He has been shot at, cussed at, spit on, and physically attacked. I have seen him hold someone's teenage daughter as she lay dying in his arms after being hit by a drunk driver, praying over her the whole time, and he has handled all of it in a professional, compassionate and ethical manner. When he was on the streets, I would send him out at night covered in prayer that God would watch over him and bring him home safely to me. He is still with me and for that I am so grateful. Tell someone in law enforcement that you appreciate them today; don’t tell your children that if they act up, you are going to tell that policeman over there to get them, teach them to respect them; and if you happen to know a spouse of someone in law enforcement, thank them for what they have to go through, too! Wear blue today to show your support.

I back the blue. There have been 5 people in law enforcement within 200 miles of us, horsesinharleton, who have been killed in the past month. This is unbelievable. Something has got to give. I asked a neighbor the other day when was the last time he heard anyone mention the GOLDEN RULE. He said he could not remember. People just do not have the religious foundations to build morals and character. It starts with the parents.

Had I known that your husband was in law enforcement, I would have gotten your to come eat with us horsey folks at Chili's for the LaValley benefit.

Thank you, Streaky! Shoot an invite next time! LOL

I will also add that in addition to my husband's law enforcement background, he also pastors a Cowboy Church. So, he can put you in jail AND pray for you, which he has on numerous occasions. I wish I could share some of the letters he has gotten from prisoners who have thanked him for treating them with respect even though whatever they did landed them in jail or prison. Is he perfect?? Heck, no! But I just wanted to share that the majority of law enforcement folks are good, hard-working, decent people who don't deserve having to do their job and be on the look out for someone looking to gun them down!!
